Meh, maybe, maybe not. They had their least amount of regular season wins last year in like 7 years after signing Ohtani and Yamamato and they got a historically great season out of Ohtani.
That was with just about their rotation being on the IL at one time or another and they still won the division and the World Series. They will win the division easily if their rotation is even close to healthy yea they will challenge it
It will be a strong division though, there aren’t a lot of easy wins from it. Close to half of the NL (LA, Philly, NYM, Atlanta, Arizona, SD) is pretty darn solid. Easy wins might be Colorado, Miami, Washington, maybe us/Pirates depending on how things shake out. But even the Pirates have a nice top 3 starters in Skenes, Jones, and Keller that won’t make those days easy wins. I just don’t think it will be that easy for them to challenge the win record.
Keep an eye on the Giants as a "sleeper" team.

Im comfortable saying they will win it. They won it 11 of the past 12 seasons the only season they didnt they still won 106 games lol which to win 106 games and still not win the division blows my mind. They won 98 with a rotation decimated by injuries last season and still won the world series.. They have won 100 or more games 5 of the last 8 seasons and won 104 or more games 4 of them. The dodgers winning their division is pretty much the safest bet you can make. And they are off to a 2-0 start this season

Never said they wouldn’t win the division, I do think they will. I should have been more clear on what I was talking about before. But I don’t think they challenge the record for wins. They play in too tough of a division to do that and there are too many “elite-ish” teams in the NL right now to do that IMO.

I'm not worried about the CUBS, I'm worried about the CARDINALS.

Thats fair. I still think if their rotation stays even close to healthy they can easily challenge it They won 111 in 2022 and this years team is probably even better

I’m not worried about the Cardinals. That’s no fun. I’m looking forward to enjoying some regular season games.

Obviously the 2 games aren’t really about us, it’s about growing the game globally.
Sure I understand your point. Does baseball really need growing in Japan? They have had a robust professional league for decades. If this was about growing the game these games would be played in France, or the Czech Republic or Tanzania.

This was 100% a field trip and a thank you love letter for Ohtani and the other Japanese players. I'm fine with that and it's obviously MLB's right. The PR for MLB right now is in a rough spot and IMO it doesn't help that you open the season in the middle of the night across the ocean in a place you don't need to.

You are only interested in seeing a few regular season games? No spring training trip again this year?

Couldn’t go this year. Watching some ST games on TV.
