Busy Offseason

Post by Cranny »

Although it seemed quiet, the Cardinals were actually fairly active, signing 31 players.

In November -

Roddery Munoz, RHP
Michael Gomez, RHP
Jose Barrero, SS
Jhonny Chaparro, C
Ryan Vilade, OF

In December -

Jan Cabrera, RHP

In January -

Bailey Horn, LHP
Kenly Hunter, OF
Miquel Hernandez, SS
Yordy Valdez, OF
Daniel Gomez, RHP
Nick Raquet, LHP
Sebastion Dos Santos, SS
Juan Rujano, SS
Yostin Pena, OF
Royelny Strop, OF
Michael Cordero, IF
Jesus Perez, SS
Yeferson Portolatin, SS
Juan Garcia, RHP
Johel Pozo, C
Zach Weiss, RHP
Victor Santos, RHP

In February -

Michael Helman, OF
Nick Anderson, RHP
Chris Taylor, RHP
Rob Kaminsky, LHP
Ernie Day, RHP
Ryan Shreve, RHP

In March -

Hendrick Cana, LHP
Phil Maton, RHP

Since most of them are slotted into the minors, Bloom probably had his hand in much of it. Don't know how many will be any good, but the activity seemed to be there.

1 on the team and maybe 1-2 with an outside shot at making a contribution this year. You think other teams don't sign a bunch of randos every winter, too?

I don't even know what to say about the stupidity of this thread. It's about time for Cranny to go. Permanently.

They do. Cranny is just grasping at straws at this point

It's absurd. He wants to give them extra credit for making the same international signings they and every team do every year.

Talk about desperation.

You just wait, imagine how busy their July will be when they draft some players too!

This is a bit like saying I've been really bust breathing the last few weeks.

They signed a bunch rotting fruit who cares. I don’t know why you include the international signings that’s like saying the cardinals were very busy during June. Of course they weren’t going to it’s the draft. Every team signed a bunch of international free agents.

Unfortunately, you are probably correct. I still check in to see what is going on, but Mo, Oli and the ownership have sure taken the wind out of my sails. I just can’t get excited like I have for the past years. Maybe with a new front office and field manager my spirits will be rejuvenated.

Not trying to make any point. Just listing the signings because no one else has.

There are some interesting ones.

For instance Yohel Pozo has had an OPS at AAA of .861 in 2023 and .873
in 2024. AAA batting average since he has attained that level has been .321. Slugging has been .542.

Barrero has a real chance of major league playing time this season.

Maton could be a help.

There is not a single person I've talked to that can't wait to clean house in that organization. I look at what the Blues have done with their re-tool, and it's horribly disappointing knowing how opposite our baseball organization is. It's an absolute insult to keep Mozeliak around, and they are going to feel it very badly in their bottom line. And they 100% deserve it.
