What to do with Walker?
Walker seems like a good kid who wants to succeed. Says all the right things. But let's face it...he's a dumpster fire at the plate. Didn't hit AAA or MLB pitching at all last season and has not hit a lick this spring.
And the Cards are going to just hand him a job?
They either know something we don't or they're incredibly stupid.
So I put it to you fine folks. How would you handle Walker? What would your plan be for the youngster who is still only 22 years old?
I know what I'd do...I send him to Memphis. Tell him he is the everyday right fielder. Tell him to have fun and not worry about the stats. Tell him his priority is to simply hit hard line drives. After a couple of months I evaluate and go from there. There is no way that right now he needs to be playing in St Louis. Does him or the team no favors.

Re: What to do with Walker?
Chaim has to consider moving him. There's possibly a few teams that may feel they can correct his ills?
You don't have to go forward with what you have...tough decisions need to be made. I guess they'll make those decisions after the 2025 season.

Talking about the note Mozeliak is gonna go out on.
Can you think of a worse way than to have... JORDAN WALKER... be the next former Cardinal to hit his stride with another organization?

Do you think that any moves that have been made this spring or any moves that may be made would not require Blooms approval?

I don't know, but it seems we could ask that question the other way around, 100 times respectively. And we would have no idea at the end of the day. However, as far as reputation goes, nobody would be associating the failure of Walker with Chaim Bloom. It would be 100% on Mozeliak's record.riff raff wrote: ↑18 Mar 2025 14:35 pmFor the 100'th time.imadangman wrote: ↑18 Mar 2025 14:30 pmTalking about the note Mozeliak is gonna go out on.

Honestly, I think that's the only reason for hanging on to Mo for this season. It's punishment for putting the team in this position and Mo is afraid to do anything further. He seems paralyzed. Bloom will definitely come in next season with all of the blame on MO. I half expect them to fire Mo by mid-season and hurry things up before it gets hopelessly worse.imadangman wrote: ↑18 Mar 2025 14:40 pmI don't know, but it seems we could ask that question the other way around, 100 times respectively. Fellas, they told us that all that cures the YUTES is finally a full year…..without pressure….without the ups and downs…..to just run out on that MLB field and let youth run wild……All-stars will blossom
That simple

I just don't think Bloom is going to let anything major happen that will affect his future here unless he approves it. He's got the juice now.
There were posters on here that were saying Bloom was influential in acquiring pitchers before he was even officially hired.

No, that’ll corrupt the fantasy storyline they’ve been pumping the last decade……its so powerful that many on CT have been brainwashedGalatians221jb1 wrote: ↑18 Mar 2025 14:44 pmHonestly, I think that's the only reason for hanging on to Mo for this season. Re: What to do with Walker?
What are the better options? And then, why are we trying to compete in 2025? It's a reset...and, imo, there's not any better options for the OF in the minors. You either let him try and figure it out at the Major League level or you trade him. Sending him to Memphis is the same as Keeping him St. Louis this season. Do you want him facing Major League pitching or AAA pitching with Zero modern developmental tools at Memphis? He'll learn more with the big league club...and if he struggles, who cares? You all know we aren't trying to compete...then why are we STILL trying make moves/lineups/etc to squeeze out a win that just isn't there? So I guess if you want him in Memphis, that means you want to hide him....that doesn't help him. Again, if we had the infrastructure to deal with his ails, then I'd be for it. Let's stay the course with the "let the kids play to see what we have". Letting Barrero or Fermin get major league AB's over Walker in 2025 isn't the answer...short term nor long term.riff raff wrote: ↑18 Mar 2025 14:53 pmThy should be. I imagine Bloom will get the chance to bring in his own staff and evaluate all the players in the organization prior to any "big name" prospects being moved. Mo is a dumpster fire. Everyone, on the staff, hired by him will probably be swept out the door. At least, I can hope.
