Can anyone explain why Disney is so insistent on releasing this DOA stinker in theaters, when we all know they don't really give a single hoot in hell between theaters and streaming?

And spare me the "because it's woke" [nonsense]. I don't care how closely Zegler's skin tone matches your Sherwin-Williams paint swatches, this material is not exactly firing up progressives.

I imagine they calculate they can make more money in theaters even if it bombs... there's a lot of Disney families out there with little girls and most of them don't care at all about bad press.

How much money have they dumped into this thing? Admittedly, I haven’t been paying a lot attention, but I’m aware of it because of people have been taking about it, a lot. Seems like it’s been a topic of conversation for two or three years now.

Recouping any $ possible, might be one of the reasons.

That's what it started with... followed by some drama about how to do the dwarves (whether real people or CGI, Peter Dinklage had thoughts)... followed by Israel stuff considering the villain is played by a former IDF soldier and the actress playing the hero is outspoken for Palestine.
