Hahaha
this was some fun to read ... some not fun too
Mo signed his contract long ago. He needn't do anything. He should retire early ... with full pay and benefits obviously..

What would you expect to get in return for last season's RBI leader? For a team that has had trouble with RISP. He's only 26 with some possible upside.Mort Gage wrote: ↑11 Mar 2025 20:18 pmI think, if, Mo "traded" Burleson it could allow a more "versatile" player like Koperniak an opportunity. Or, it, could allow a "player" like Baker a chance to be a RH power "bat" off the bench.Shady wrote: ↑11 Mar 2025 19:51 pmWill Mo, actually, not be able to move at least one of these expendable players before the season. Arenado, Gray and Fedde. The Cardinals aren't going anywhere with these three this season. Open up some spots for young guys for the future.Shady wrote: ↑11 Mar 2025 17:18 pm Just curious. Maybe there are responsibilities he has that aren't obvious. If he really means a reset. He needs to move at least two of these three before the season starts to create spots for younger players. Those three are Arenado, Gray and Fedde. I realize two of the three have NTCs.

Mainly his task is to educate Bloom and teach him as much as Bloom is able to grasp. Bloom hasn't won a thing as an Executive, so hopefully he listens closely to the instruction coming from the 3 time MLB EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR.Shady wrote: ↑11 Mar 2025 17:18 pm Just curious. According to the man who signs his checks, Mo's lack of moves has earned his salary.
Re: What moves have Mozeliak made to earn his salary this year?
He signed 29 players this off season, oversaw all the new sophisticated equipment that has been purchased, oversaw the hirings of all the new coaches and roving coaches, and is overseeing a huge renovation project at Roger Dean stadium in Jupiter. Other than that, not much.

So far they have moved on from the veteran FA’s to focus on finding out what the younger “cost controlled” guys will do.Shady wrote: ↑11 Mar 2025 17:18 pm Just curious. Guess we’ll find out if it works once they actually start playing games?
What SPECIFIC moves would you have made this off season?

a new cards talk poster and a fitness guru for the team?Shady wrote: ↑11 Mar 2025 20:29 pmWhat would you expect to get in return for last season's RBI leader? Thanks for confirming what I said is true. Good to see you are honest about it.Banner29 wrote: ↑11 Mar 2025 20:51 pmOver a decade agohilton head is 4 idiots wrote: ↑11 Mar 2025 20:41 pmMainly his task is to educate Bloom and teach him as much as Bloom is able to grasp. Too many of the trolls refuse to acknowledge Mo's awards.
Re: What moves have Mozeliak made to earn his salary this year?
Bloom made those Minor League coaching adjustments. His recommendation and moves, based off what he saw and feed back from 2024 in the minors, Cranny. Mo doesn't get credit for that.Cranny wrote: ↑11 Mar 2025 20:58 pmHe signed 29 players this off season, oversaw all the new sophisticated equipment that has been purchased, oversaw the hirings of all the new coaches and roving coaches, and is overseeing a huge renovation project at Roger Dean stadium in Jupiter. I thought the best thing he did was moving Leger (AA manager) and Gilkey (1B coach, fielding coach at Palm Beach) to centralized roles in the Minors...they'll rove around to all the leagues. Smartest managers/coaches in the organization.
The biggest travesty was promoting Anderson (Peoria Manager) to Springfield....he's a butcher of pitching arms
Re: What moves have Mozeliak made to earn his salary this year?
Figuring out a way to trade Arenado and either Gray or Fedde. Opening up at least one spot for young, developing talent in the infield and one spot for a starting pitcher.Cusecards wrote: ↑11 Mar 2025 21:01 pmSo far they have moved on from the veteran FA’s to focus on finding out what the younger “cost controlled” guys will do.Shady wrote: ↑11 Mar 2025 17:18 pm Just curious. Yes even if they are unimpressive, insignificant, and a very very long time ago they did happen.
Pure greatness……

Mo did hire Rob Cerfolio.

It takes two sides to make a trade.Shady wrote: ↑11 Mar 2025 21:27 pmFiguring out a way to trade Arenado and either Gray or Fedde. You can TRY all you want to trade a player but if you are offered garbage you don’t make a move and sit tight.
BTW....two of the three you mentioned have NTC’s which is a MAJOR factor in making a potential move.
