I'm very surprised this is legal. "But what about the children???" Who issues their license?

I suspect they get their license in the same manner that anyone selling alcohol would. Lots of events around town have these types of trailers (admittedly way smaller!) pouring/serving beer. Festivals, church picnics, carnivals, etc.

It's my understanding that most jurisdictions issue limited time licenses for festivals, music events, etc. This beer truck seems like it goes wherever and whenever. Just seems odd for a deep red state like Missouri.

Since Ontario has now banned alcohol from the US, I started thinking about what quality beers are made in Ontario and by extension, Canada.

I really can’t think of a great beer from Ontario that I would miss. But I sure as hell hope Quebec stays out of this. Because this beer is fantastic.

Not Unibroue caliber, but Collective Arts out of Hamilton and Flying Monkeys out of Barrie brew some pretty good stuff. I don't know how far they distribute, but beer stores in Michigan and Ohio have them.

I’ve never heard of Collective Arts. But I have heard of Flying Monkeys. Michigan is loaded with good breweries.

There is a Belgian beer inspired brewery in my neck of the woods (Central Indiana) called Taxman Brewing Co. It’s an awfully good brewery with a constantly evolving selection to add to their very good standards. It’s my favorite place to drink flights. But, yeah their triples and quads are quite as good. If you like bourbon barrel aged Belgians, go here.

Good thing I didn't see this thread last night while I was dining at an excellent Thai restaurant during Happy Hour when they have Tsingtao beer, and had to decline......because I was facing walking several blocks to a super-anticipated event in a strange city's downtown, and didn't want any of my senses dimmed. A great Thai meal without ice-cold Tsingtao is a sacrifice.

We are very fortunate to have so many excellent breweries! There's something for just about everyone.

I generally start avoiding the stouts as it warms up, but with it still a bit cool, I still enjoy them. I am basically in lager and pilsner season year round. I also love a good hazy IPA from now until the end of the fall.

The Ladue News readers voted Millpond Brewing in Millstadt, Illinois the best craft brewer in the St. Louis Area for 2025.

https://www.laduenews.com/online/2025-p ... in-article
FOOD & BEVERAGE > CRAFT BREWER

Millpond Brewing

Millpond Brewing knows that the best beer is the one shared in good company. Its website states, “The town of Millstadt has strong roots as a farming and milling community. … In the summertime, residents of the community would swim, fish, have picnics and hold family gatherings at the millpond. In the wintertime they would skate on the frozen water and sled on its banks. Millponds became the first, defacto, city parks.” The communityoriented spirit lives on, as the space hosts yoga, trivia nights, musical guests and food trucks each week. Not to forget the drinks themselves – owner Bryan Schubert’s locally sourced brews include a rotation of lagers, hazy IPAs, whiskey barrel-aged concoctions and, at the time of writing, the non-alcoholic “Maurice” golden ale, named after Schubert’s teetotaling grandfather.
