Assumed Team name would simply carry over from last year. I also thought we were to use our CT Name so we would all know who was who. Some have followed that. Some haven't. No Biggie for me either way.
I’ve been nudging people to change either to their screen name, or have some part of their name in it. Just hadn’t made it to you yet.

The old names didn’t carry over, because this is essentially a newly formed league, rather than a renewal of last years.
If this is a
dynasty you keep whole team but somehow far more activinty
Talked to a guy that does a 20-team dynasty league, with all the minors. Too much for me. Seems like the Renaissance fair of fantasy.
Depends on if you have players you want to keep. It’s all about getting who you value and adding to the rookies. I recommend trying it. It is a roster crunch if 10 teams to add 2 rookies you have to drop 2 players. So are you playing the long game or trying to win this year is always difficult

An slight update to the league format, which it seems I haven’t posted here yet…

We’re keeping the rosters at 26, w the same active roster spots, with one minor change - two of the general ‘P’ spots have converted to ‘RP’ spots. This will allow us to search the player pool for RPs only, which was not possible last year.

Shakes out like this -

C
1B
2B
3B
SS
OF
OF
OF
UT
UT
UT

SP
SP
SP
SP
SP
RP
RP
P
P
P

BN, BN, BN, BN, BN

Currently there are 4x IL, 1x NA but this may change. There’s a poll in the chat channel with alternate options.

Although I suspect I know what the result is going to be, can you put up a poll with the swap OBP for AVG proposal (or some other, more involved version of that which you may have considered)?

I think that the YBI - QV trade negotiations should be live streamed in the league chat. It might be the most entertaining part of the season.

So 11 hitters and 10 pitchers on active roster?

That’s the present format. I suppose it seems unbalanced, but the only balance that matters is in the scoring categories.

I think I may have been in the league you’re referencing, but I quit after a year or two. Or maybe it was a different league, but it was set up through these forums. This was back in like 2007.

There was a minor league system where you’d pick five guys and someone would keep a spreadsheet. When they got called up, you would add them to your roster.

To be honest, the league really was irritating, and mainly that was a lot of the managers in it. They’d want to email back-and-forth about trades all day. you’d finally get something set up and then they would back out. One time, I remember a guy backed out, and not even officially. He just stopped responding. Then one of his players got hurt a few days later. After that, was emailing me, frantically asking, can we still do the trade? Really frustrating. After those interactions I was like F this, I’m out. I also won first place the inaugural year, so that was kind of cool.

I could definitely see that being frustrating. This guy was kind of a stats loon… was rattling off all kinds of numbers from the top of his head. Reminded me a little of myself, 20 years ago. Quickly realized I wanted him to stop talking, and that I must have been extremely obnoxious 20 years ago :D
