Starbucks Axes 13 Drinks Amid 6% Layoffs

Post by Pink Freud »

The drinks slated to disappear next week are:
Iced Matcha Lemonade,
Espresso Frappuccino,
Caffè Vanilla Frappuccino,
Java Chip Frappuccino,
White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino,
Chai Crème Frappuccino,
Caramel Ribbon Crunch Crème Frappuccino,
Double Chocolaty Chip Crème Frappuccino,
Chocolate Cookie Crumble Crème Frappuccino,
White Chocolate Crème Frappuccino,
White Hot Chocolate,
Royal English Breakfast Latte and
Honey Almondmilk Flat White.

Thirteen fewer choices to venti caf/half-caf you with extra whip, soupcon of prickly pear syrup, splash of almondmilk, twist of lemon, bamboo straw while pounding out that screenplay for Spielberg. No doubt many baristas will welcome simplifying the menu. https://youtu.be/eqqXCiPJTXE?si=pIDav7sc0AgO1dmx

Starbucks was my favorite in So. Cal. in the 90's, not so much after I moved back to STL in 2000. When they became Baskin Robbins with their 31 flavors+ multiple ways to make them it was a turn off. I miss an old favorite of mine = White Chocolate Raspberry Mocha or Frap. 8)

There's a convenience store chain on the eastern seaboard called Cumberland Farms, which always had the finest coffee --- their Columbian Supremo --- I've ever had. Even their everyday regular coffee was fantastic, and less than $2 a cup. I like what Starbucks does as a corporate citizen, but I still can't justify paying that much just for a cup of coffee, no matter how long its name.

All of my homebrewed Columbian coffee I brew that is left over in late-morning gets a shot of half 'n half, sweetener, then into the fridge for iced coffee that tastes very much like an Arby's mocha shake.
