Like, there’s a guy who is likely keeping Yordan, O’Neil Cruz, Junior Caminero… he has Skenes. It’d be really tempting for him to pair Strider with Skenes going forward since his position players blow.
Yordan doesn’t blow & it looks like he digs the high ceiling players… so ya, Strider’s probably on his radar. You could just plan to draft him a round or two earlier than his ADP.

You can keep both Strider & Jazz, right?
Yeah, both.

Basically you’re required to keep 3 but max of 5 and one has to be a pitcher.

If you don’t have a pitcher worth keeping, then, you would just keep only 3 or 4, then you get a pick before the draft starts, and you’d have to grab a pitcher… first pick in the draft is 61 cause 60 players will be off the board.

I wasn’t saying Yordan blows, just that his other two are not currently top of the draft types.

Hmmm… complicated system you have there. Think I’d probably take the opportunity to get the pre-draft pick, assuming you can take anyone that isn’t already “kept”.

I’ll name my keepers late and share the best available list.

I’d generally guess that 6 managers will keep 5, 4 will keep 4, and 2 will keep 3.

Is there an order to the pre-draft picks?

It’s randomized after keepers are set.

Well if half the league is in the pre-draft, that eliminates some of the strategic advantage.

It seems like the best approach would be waiting until you know who’s keeping who, how many will be in the pre-draft, and what pitchers will be up for grabs.

Yeah. IDK.

Assumed Team name would simply carry over from last year. I also thought we were to use our CT Name so we would all know who was who. Some have followed that. Some haven't. No Biggie for me either way.

Suppose so.

I’ll start up a poll in the next few days, perhaps with three options… one being to add another N/A spot, without dropping the IL slot.
15 teams with IL and 2 NA? Obviously this leauge is not
Looking to stream or make trades at all. I like movers and shakers. Not stagnant rosters. Need active owners that don’t just set lineups and look once per week? Speak up if you play like me and like to make a lot of moves so I know who to communicate with.
I know you. Not sure from where. From literature, pulp fiction, film. Somewhere, somehow. A past CT regular.

Love the schtick. Just can't place where I have heard it before.

Quincy is your man. The two of you will be flipping your rosters back and forth several times a day.

Quince,
Have we given any further thought to introducing the concept of a Keeper?

I say A Keeper as with 15 teams in the league more then one would lock up too much if not all the top tier talent.

Must be declared ahead of a draft obviously hence my bringing it forth at this time.

Like to propose 1 Keeper and years of control not to exceed 2 seasons.

I’ve been nudging people to change either to their screen name, or have some part of their name in it. Just hadn’t made it to you yet.

The old names didn’t carry over, because this is essentially a newly formed league, rather than a renewal of last years.

If this is a keeper leauge new teams just miss out on all those and don’t get to pick someone before the regular draft? So if there are 30 players kept and I get last pick my best player is overall 45?

I’m not that experienced w/ keeper leagues, and not w/ Yahoo - so, I’m not sure there’s a mechanism that could limit the period of control for a ‘keeper’. But, we don’t necessarily need to rely on Yahoo’s mechanics. Teams could simply identify their keeper in the offseason - and that player could be manually added to their roster. More work for the commissioner, though.

Let me look into how it could be done on the current platform, and maybe we’ll put it to a vote. We’re still almost a month from draft day.

Talked to a guy that does a 20-team dynasty league, with all the minors. Too much for me. Seems like the Renaissance fair of fantasy.
