Way too undersized for my liking. I seriously doubt his level of skill will compensate for his diminutive body.

I've been wrong way more than once. Good luck, Scotty.

But he’s about 5 feet tall too, so 5 for 5.

LOL, 5 for 5 is Bobby Plager for fighting.

What the heck could Lamoriello know? He's only been a GM for 35 years. We really fleeced him when he got Scott Stevens from the Blues.

I guess they figure they have 6 D for tonight and don't need a seventh until Friday. I think they save a few bucks towards the cap per calendar day with a lower NHL payroll, even on open dates.

MiamiLaw wrote: 27 Jan 2025 13:06 pm Just a few months ago, a lot of people on here were absolutely berating anyone questioning him and saying he hasn't been given a chance and had this huge untapped potential. Now, for a conditional 5th, it's crickets?

I am all for getting something for an essentially worthless player but where did all those Scotty P fans go? Anyone want to apologize for some of the vile, disrespectful things said to some of us that dared to question his value? I assume not...
His "value" via stats was evident to all. It was his potential that a number of us continued to proclaim. I still have that opinion of him as well.

Not sure if you are referring to me but as a supporter I was never "vile or disrespectful" to anyone.

Differences in opinions is what I recall and there's no doubt it was his supporters who had the case to prove so maybe that irked some people who insisted otherwise.

If I'm wrong it won't be the first time it's not the end of the world and I will acknowledge that but I'll let his career, what's left of it, play out before doing so if that's ok with you.
Nope not you dh. We have disagreed on many things (including Peru) but I don't remember it ever being anything but generally respectful. But there was a thread back in November in particular where a few people got very offended by people giving a negative opinion on Perunovich.

OK good.

"generally respectful" is a good description of some of the banter on this and other subjects around here. I do know Miami that in some of my banter I pointed out complete disrespect given to Peru by others who wanted him gone so that coin has two sides btw.

I'm fine with following from here and see if he can become a "NHL regular". I think that's a fair barometer and one for me to face up to if indeed he can't stay on a gig league roster.

Right now I certainly agree he has his work cut out for him.

I too wish Scotty P well, but I'm also glad the experiment is over. Perhaps things could have been different if the injuries didn't keep him down. Given his skill set I can't help but wonder why he didn't try to switch to the wing because surely the signs were there many years ago.

Thank you, Doug. Enough of the pint-sized D men. Especially one who is supposed to be offensive-minded who can't score.

How about Armstrong in exchange for an 12th rounder in 2038?

This is Armstrong's fault. Perunovich is just the puck that he shot 15 wide of the net.

Happy to see this sorry chapter come to an end. I had high hopes for him, even for a breakthrough this season. Not to be. I am surprised by the compensation. A fifth rounder I can see. But unless he plays 20 games the Blues won't even get a back of pucks.

Conditional 5th at that. Don’t know the exact terms
I have a feeling we just traded away another 10+ Goal, 40+pt defenseman.
Perhaps. But he'll always be a defensive liability.

If he'd pattern his game after Curt Giles instead of trying to be a Tyson Barrie he'd have a better chance at success.
