Re: Randy Karraker and ‘The Morning Drive’ Out at 101.1
I knew the olds would hate this.
My God, what do you want them to talk about from a local angle for four straight hours? They talked about Mizzou, had a Mizzou writer on. Talked about the Blues, had Kerber on. The Illini got stomped, not much to dive into. No Cardinals or City in season, no NFL team, no NBA team.
It’s different than what you’re used to. Honestly, it’s different than what the typical TMA audience is used to. Things. Change. Making a decision after 15 minutes is silly.

does bernie still wind up for his 30-60 second opinion with a 10 minute apology in case whatever he is about to say ruffles anyones feathers? he was great as a columnist when (i assume) he had an editor remove all the apologist [nonsense]. Own your opinions and live with any blowback.

Doug, Martin, and any of the 3 mornings peeps would of been fine.
Adding d -bag Mckernan just ruins the show, and pushes pee pee talk over to 101.1, Hubbard are terrible, they have destroyed many stations, and continue to destroy even more.

Within the first 5-10 minutes it was talk about hard nipples and swingers. I’m not opposed to humor that pushes the envelope, but their stuff isn’t funny and hasn't been for sometime. I feel like I was listening to 590 in 2005. It’s been the same thing for 20 years. If Randy’s show got stale, which I agree it did, I don’t see how this is much different. Maybe it’s stale with mold?

This is similar to how I feel. The kinds of jokes that they do are kinda hack. Years ago it was getting kind of old. I mean, a really funny person can make basically anything funny, but no offense to those guys because I do like them, but they aren’t that funny. I said earlier that it’s got a zoo crew vibe, but that was being played out in the 90s. And I did like that their show was different from the usual stuff, but it’s just gotten way stale to meDJ Davis wrote: ↑28 Oct 2024 17:48 pm Within the first 5-10 minutes it was talk about hard nipples and swingers. I’m wondering if something happened internally, because it’s awful late in the year. They could’ve just let Randy and his crew finish out the year and start fresh in January. But they went this direction so abruptly and not a whole lot of people actually like McKernan all that much. He’s been kind of hard to listen to this morning to be honest

It’s been a rough first morning. I’m not gonna lie. There’s just no sports, it’s all junk and side conversations and no real sports talk.ShakeyWalton wrote: ↑28 Oct 2024 13:48 pmI doubt it. The comments on their 101 ESPN Facebook post after this change were absolutely brutal.Ronnie Dobbs wrote: ↑28 Oct 2024 13:45 pm They seem like nice guys, but TMA is way played out. I used to listen because it was nice to have something a bit different from the usual, and I usually liked what they had to say when they did talk sports, but it's just too much to sit through. I can only do so many gay and "Doug is a pedo" jokes that they do over and over and over. The morning zoo crew thing is generally awful. Howard Stern could pull it off, but most people aren't that funny. It was old a decade ago and any time I turn on sports talk in the morning and the show comes on, it feels like they're doing the same thing they used to. And I suppose that's fine for them. They have a pretty built in audience, I think. Maybe that's enough to keep getting good ratings.
And now they’re talking about Lube.
Like, get them out of here

2nd morning no better for me, only reason they talked hockey was cuz they had John Kelly on and i guess were forced to.Rollin' on the River 2 wrote: ↑29 Oct 2024 08:36 amIt’s been a rough first morning. Yeah. I didn’t listen yesterday. So first day for me today I can imagine it didn’t go well.Natl20 wrote: ↑29 Oct 2024 13:11 pm2nd morning no better for me, only reason they talked hockey was cuz they had John Kelly on and i guess were forced to.Rollin' on the River 2 wrote: ↑29 Oct 2024 08:36 amIt’s been a rough first morning. It’s just such a disjointed program it’s weird. Karraker might have been stale but they talked sports and the program moved in a linear fashion.

It would be one thing, if Tim had talent, was funny, and actually brought anything to the show/s. He's a d-bag, who thinks he's much smarter than anyone, and tries to force poker terms, like a huge dork, into every conversation.
just the worst, if his daddy wasn't selling pee pee talk advertisement for him, he'd be doing afternoon news in West Memphis

I want to hear about sports. Not organic coconut oil and it’s usefulness as a lubricant

Feel sorry for the families of TMA hosts and crew, this product is just awful in every way.

I’ll give them a week to get themselves sorted then, I’ll probably find a new morning drive show. It was hard dealing with him from 10-11 for Balloon party, having to deal with him for 4 hours is unbearable thus far.

How much do you need broken down for four straight hours? Again, there's only one local pro team in season and two college teams. No Hot Stove yet. You want them to break down NFL quarterbacks? Would the NBA work in St. Louis? Mount Rushmore of ballpark snacks?Rollin' on the River 2 wrote: ↑29 Oct 2024 17:57 pmIt’s sports talk radio.desertrat23 wrote: ↑28 Oct 2024 16:21 pm I knew the olds would hate this.

And hey, if coconut oil is a good lube, you learned something. Nothing wrong with a little education.
