E coli at McDonald's

Post by edwin drood »

10 states, including Missouri, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska, are reporting E coli poisoning of McDonald's Quarter Pounders. Source seems to be the slivered onions used to top the burgers. McDonald's is suspending sales of the popular fare. If you've eaten the suspect sandwich in the past few weeks and find yourself out of bathroom tissue, see a doc.

Onions can be contaminated the same way salad greens are occasionally contaminated - irrigation water contaminated with livestock waste, like from cattle and pigs, common in the above states.

Carry on.
