My own recency bias would lead me to vote for Freese's dinger from 2011, but Boyer's Grand Slam should always be in the conversation of greatest hit in Cardinals history.

Remembirds mentions Willie McGee's national coming out party in Game 3 of the '82 WS, as well as Country's Mad Dash at Fenway to win Game 7 and the World Serious for the '46 Cards. This is also the day of winning Game 7 against the Yankees in '64.

Think about that a second. The Ides of October found two game 7s in the days before TV. By 1982 the TV money has made in impact, and an extra round of playoffs had been added, yet the same date found the WS already in game 3, only for 4 games behind, if you will, of the calender pace of the game. Look what's happened since then. Not one, but TWO rounds of playoffs have been added, and the NLCSs have just started. The WS gets pushed more and more into November. And MLB wonders why their postseason TV ratings are so low.
