Jose Berrios (5 wins, 3 QS, 47 K, 5.56 ERA, 1.38 WHIP)
James McArthur (6 SV, 9 K, 5.19 ERA, 1.39 WHIP)

Nestor Cortes (2 wins, 3 QS, 44 K, 5.98 ERA, 1.44 WHIP)
Lane Thomas (.242 AVG, .711 OPS, 26 runs, 18 RBI, 12 SB, 2 HR)
Crappiest players involved… but it looks like a fair trade with equitable crappiness. The difference is that you kept your (bleep) players

Worst trades I’ve made both involved imadamnman… Hunter Greene for Esteury Ruiz, and Lindor for Webb/Garcia. Honorable mention goes to trading Austin Riley on the cusp of his resurrection, along w/ Riley Greene and Arraez for Alvarez.

Austin Riley before 6/14 -
46/209, 28 R, 3 HR, 20 RBI, .220 AVG, .618 OPS

After -
57/184, 30 R, 14 HR, 34 RBI, .310 AVG, .993 OPS

It was before the season started, when Spencer Strider was still alive, and I expected to dominate in Ks. Needed SBs… yes, it was terrible.

It appears that being dropped or traded from my roster may have season-altering benefits…

Eugenio Suarez, dropped 7/20
Before - .213 AVG / .660 OPS
After - .313 AVG / 1.003 OPS

Jake Burger, dropped 7/12
Before - .215 AVG / .605 OPS
After - .354 AVG / 1.229 OPS

Jeff McNeil, dropped 7/21
Before - .220 AVG / .614 OPS
After - .318 AVG / .962 OPS

Good luck and godspeed, JT Realmuto.

mattmitchl44 wrote: 06 Jun 2024 06:01 am AOF - I'm still prepared to sell you save opportunities, but am activity shopping my saves elsewhere as well.

If you want to address your saves deficiencies, now is the time.

MacArthur + an OF from my roster for your least valuable player (whoever you decide that is) + some other asset from your roster that makes the deal make sense

Don't fail to win the league because you punted saves. :D
Are you holding Hader?

Doesn’t sound to me like the deal you’re proposing ‘makes sense’. Not if your sole intention is assuring that someone else wins the league, rather than actually improving your own team. Some might call that collusion.
Oh no, the "some other asset from [AOF's] roster that makes the deal make sense" is going to have to be an upgrade that helps me a lot. Basically a one (AOF's major asset) for two (MacArthur + OF) where I need to be getting the best player in the deal.

I'm just selling this "win-win" deal that will help both of us. :D

And, yep, MacArthur with a save today.

And, yes, my intention is to hold Hader and Fairbanks, to keep my saves afloat.

If you want to make me an offer for MacArthur, I'd listen as well, but as you (26 SVs) are closer to me (28 SVs) than AOF (10 SVs) is, I would be more inclined to want to send him to AOF.
I'm only interested in Hader or Fairbanks. I appreciate the offer, but I think McArthur is a bum and not long for the role. JMHO
Maybe, but he is in the Top 15 in saves with 11. And KC doesn't have a lot of great options to unseat him either.

Sometimes you can't get what you want, but you can get what you need.
Looks like I wasn’t wrong about McArthur

A lot of the dialogue was zapped in the spring cleaning, but I could swear Matt insisted that McArthur had more job security than Yates 😂

I think what I specifically said was that the Royals didn't have an obvious better option to turn to, whereas the Rangers had former closer David Robertson if Yates faltered.

And even since 6/16, no one outside of MacArthur (6) on the Royals has more than 1 save.

Yes, and you specifically said that because you were making an argument that McArthur had more job security than Yates. You were mostly right, because everyone else on the Royals sucks too… but they can only take so much before giving someone new the opportunity to suck.

And I said they’d have someone else in the closer role that wasn’t yet on the roster.

Matt - curious what you and FP thinks about the trade I'm making. To be honest, going a bit against my instincts on it but I have plan, hopefully it works out.

I am still sad that the day Blake Snell pitched his no hitter, he was on my bench.....

I was traveling back from out of town and the app on my phone assured me that I had moved him from bench to SP, but apparently it didn't go through......

33 VORP to 27 VORP, with you losing the trade.

I’d imagine their projections for Cowser are on the conservative side, as they were for Westburg. Also if their ROS is anything like Yahoo’s, they haven’t accounted for Sewald’s recent meltdowns and loss of the closers role.

I know we still have some time left, but my team is improved a lot after I cut bait on the deadweight starting pitchers and traded for Castillo. I’d be happy with a finish between fourth and sixth place. Just need to hang on baby.

Whatashame had stretched out a huge lead but I’m chasing him down!
