Sources for Mushrooms

Post by BobbyOrr »

Obviously not talking about Buttons, portabella or Bella that you find at Walmart.
Looking for Amazing mushrooms with health benefits like

Lions main
Turkey tail
Shitake
Reishi
Maitake
Cordyceps

These and others offer many benefits when added to the diet through eating , making teas, tinctures and powders.
Anti cancer, anti aging, memory, dementia prevention, focus, Fatigue, strengthen immune system, kidney strength, decrease brain plaque, anti tumor, liver health and so much more.

Make a list of what you find and where you saw them.
Farmers markets, specialty grocery stores etc.

Move over Cannabis
Oregon and Colorado has and many other states are are considering legalizing psilocybin therapy ( magic mushrooms ) for all the benefits they are finding.
New studies are showing benefits for many mental issues.
Don't be surprised when you see cannabis dispensaries including them and other Mushroom shops specializing in edible health and supplements start opening in more progressive states soon as health through food becomes mainstream.
By By fast-food and grocery stores of today, a good thing. Healthy options will force big changes, the sooner the better.

What I have found.
Pretty bleak in chain stores in St Louis.
Other than portabella, and button, you are not going to see anything in the chain stores except the occasional
shiitake in my experience .

Fresh Thyme had the biggest selection at a premium price of course but none of the srooms with the most health benefits other than shiitake. They did have some dried also but again none of the really healthy versions.

Trader Joe had Shiitake.

Pan Asia had Oyster, King, beech, shimeji brown, enoki and Korean Shiitake .

Not sure what Korean Shiitake are, they look different. Not sure if they have the same benefits as regular Shiitake but they were cheap, so probably not.
Need to look into that as that could be a find.
Unfortunately the really god stuff I haven't found and Shiitakes seemed expensive and a hit or miss on availability. Also Pricy in comparison to other cities .

Lions main
Turkey tail
Reishi
Maitake
Cordyceps

There has to be a farmers market with a shroom guy but I haven't found it.
Also found this : https://www.ozarkforest.com/s/order#2
They have a lot of dried and powders which are great.
