I think Fantasy Pros graded my draft pretty poorly so they must be quite confounded to see me atop the standings right now.
You’re currently 6th in the “power rankings”… I’m 10th, lol.
Power rankings?? I haven’t seen this…
You’re still 6th and holding. Team Quincy is fighting its way to the cellar in Fantasy Pros land… now 11th, but 13th two days ago. I want them to hate me.

Amongst their projections for moi v. reality -
15th in SB - currently ranked 2nd
15th in WHIP - currently ranked 5th
15th in W - currently ranked 9th (but ~70 IP behind league lead)
9th in ERA - currently ranked 2nd

Their projections also have me dead last in K and QS. Good times.

Of course, mattmitchl44 is always #1 in their power rankings… now in 6th.

It’s been a good start, in first in all 3 of my leagues early. The guys in my auction draft made a real mistake letting me win both Betts and Soto.

As to the power rankings… I have a bigger lead right now on 2nd place Jeffy than Jeffy has on 11th place SamTheMan. Not sure I understand how it could possibly put me behind 5 teams at this point.

My money league CBS 12 team H2H points league has power rankings, too… but it’s based on record, total points, and breakdown (basically what your record would be if you played every team every week). So it aligns with actual results rather than projections.

Yeah, Fantasy Pros doesn’t seem to pay much attention to the numbers we’ve already accumulated.

There’s only 1.5 points separating 2nd-5th today. You aren’t really running away w/ any category but Ks, and though your K/9 is absurd, you’re also leading the league in IP… that’s what’s propping you up a bit in QS and maybe Ws.
Anyway, you have no worries for now.

Oh. to have Soto… I can’t help but imagine where the standings would be if I drafted anyone BUT Strider in the 1st round.

Hehe… I think you just described my first two weeks… every day I looked it was 2/27 or 1/32. My BA shouldn’t be much of a problem from here on - it’s an obnoxious category.

For those that want to come back next year, we can have a more open discussion about the categories in the offseason. I wouldn’t mind killing the W & AVG.

As for "the trade," I think you have your offer to me confused with someone else. I never had Lindor to trade. Sewald will be back within a few weeks and will have plenty of saves by the end of the season. Like I said, I'm patient. Too often, I have fallen in love with early production and regretted it in the second half.
No, I am not confused. I mentioned the Lindor/Steer trade to explain how I valued Steer, and how most people would.

You tried to offer me Jansen for Steer, but now you think he’s only worth Patrick Bailey??
Yes I did try to offer you Jansen for Steer. I don't even remember the trade you tried making for Sewald, but it was not close to what I viewed as helpful to my team. The great thing about sports is that people can have different opinions and neither is right or wrong until the end of the season. Personally, I really like Bailey. I really like Steer. I like Jansen, but it is now a couple weeks later in the season and I can't watch my power numbers get any farther behind the pack. So I made the trade now. We'll see how it works out.
Okay, then… good luck.

AOF is due for a "regression to the mean" week where his offense combines to go about 0 for 200 ABs.
You can bet AOF has a squad full of juicers. We could drug test them all or ask RBC what he thinks.

RBC always knows who’s juicing.

Kinda funny that mattmitch is claiming AOF is due for an 0-200… b/c his average is one of the few things Fantasy Pros has right, thus far - his projected BA, 2nd… current BA, 2nd.

Going 0-for-200 would presumably slow him down in runs (proj. 8th, not 3rd), HRs (proj. 13th, not 2nd), and RBIs (proj. 10th, not 3rd).
Yah… that was not unnoticed.

I know you were expecting to lead the league in most offensive categories… but IMO, you’re also beating realistic projections.

LOL

Acuna - .690 OPS (preseason proj. .968 OPS)
Seager - .615 OPS (preseason proj. .903 OPS)
Torres - .537 OPS (preseason proj. .789 OPS)

And that's 350 of my team's ABs.

O'Neill hitting well for 79 ABs is not making up for that hole.
Your OPS should be better… not sure about the rest.

Well, FP's power rankings are for the rest of the season. I can give you their projections for your roster, but it will take some time.

It has Josh H. Smith as .242 BA/.717 OPS/26 R/5 HR/22 RBI/3 SB going forward.
It has Riley Greene as .267 BA/.781 OPS/64 R/15 HR/53 RBI/6 SB going forward.
Just checked the site.

Preseason Josh Smith projection: 119 AB, .231 AVG, .684 OPS, 3 HR, 14 RBI
Through 5/2 Josh Smith actual: 92 AB, .318 AVG, .923 OPS, 2 HR, 14 RBI

Safe to say he's going to... blow through their projection.

Preseason Andy Pages projection: 30 AB, .224 AVG, .703 OPS, 1 HR, 4 RBI
Through 5/2 Andy Pages actual: 55 AB, .291 AVG, .862 OPS, 3 HR, 10 RBI

It projects Jacob Young to steal only 7 more bases the rest of the season even though he already has 12

I've never used Fantasy Pros so I'll be interested to see later on in the year how closely their projections line up.

It’s his pitching that’s overachieving… basically everyone after Skubal.

If I go back to the preseason projection on page 21, it had AOF as (range based on starters only or total roster):

Runs - proj. 10th - 12th (now 3rd), so +7
HR - proj. 12th - 13th (now 2nd), +10
RBI - proj. 12th - 13th (now 3rd), +9
SB - proj. 5th (now 10th), -5
BA - proj. 4th - 5th (now 2nd), +2
OPS - proj. 8th (now 3rd), +5

+28 on offense

Wins - proj. 9th - 11th (now 8th), +1
QS - proj. 9th - 11th (now 1st), +8
SVs - proj. 5th - 6th (now T-11th), -4.5
Ks - proj. 7th - 10th (now 1st), +6
ERA - proj. 13th - 14th (now 8th), +5
WHIP - proj. 11th - 12th (now 3rd), +8

+23.5 in pitching

So way overachieving in runs, HRs, RBI, QS, Ks, and WHIP, and moderately overachieving in OPS and ERA.
That seems pretty good.
