Nice 1-2 punch out the gate
Should I bother asking about Yordan?

Your pitching sucks, btw

Drafting Pitching is a lot like drafting a RB. If I had to guess, ‘24 Spencer Styder in ‘23 Shane McClanahan or Sandy Alcantera.

Atlanta always has these young, great flame throwers who blow their arms out. I could have prioritized starting pitching early in the draft, I worried they’d blow-out before the end of March.

So, I went younger guys who pitched for good teams and were lower ADP with potential. Who cares if those guys blow-out?
Not a bad approach, but I think you could be hurting there.

Don’t think I’ve drafted a pitcher in the 1st round since Randy Johnson in his prime… but Strider is like that. You have him, you dominate Ks. I’m still good if he goes down.

So about Yordan…

Somehow took Dane Dunning far sooner than I wanted to. I was trying to get Donovan there. So my 2B sucks.
Surprised I made it through the whole draft w/o a single “butterfingers” pick like that. None of the early rounds for the whole league had bizarre picks… also a surprise.

I have some slightly less terrible 2B who might interest you…

Technical difficulties on 1st pick though I may have chosen him myself in any event.

Got frozen a few times. Edman pick. Had in my que for a bench spot in final rounds. TKO as well..Glad Edman was higher. Yikes. In the future don't store junk or wine before its time in the que.

Going to need to build a staff. Sooner rather than later.

When does the waiver wire open?
What's the process for DL players? Take a bench spot or are there DL spots as well?
You can make waiver claims now, but they won’t be processed until the 13th.

I noticed 9/15 draftees exited only after the last pick. Well done, gents
I wasn’t paying that close attention, but did it seem like everyone was present at one time?

Got that. But is an IL to place players on that are on the IL. And then place a claim for a replacement player through the normal claim process?
Yes… if you have a player that’s ‘officially’ on the IL you can move him there now and make a claim w/o dropping anyone. Problem is, only 60-day players are on the IL at this time.

Still need to check out how the auto draft filled out my team.
I know how to break this to you, but you have Manoah.

Much thanks to you and all who were present!

When did you exit?

Put McClanahan on your IL and go claim the best player you can find.

I have a claim in as I placed Dominguez on the IL

I thought I’d end up with Betts at 4 but Jeffy took him #2. Gave me the chance to have Juan Soto for the first time… he’s gonna have an epic year. Watch.
