Two undisputed truths about Oli Marmol

1. Bloom knows A LOT more about Oli than we do. (And that includes what players think of OM). He's been here 2 years.
2. Oli's success is directly linked to Bloom's success/job security.
In an offseason full of bold moves, and even giving money to other teams to get better prospects in trades, it would be silly for Bloom to skimp on MLB managers if he felt Oli was detrimental to the team and their growth. It's literally a drop in the bucket, money-wise, compared to bolder offseason moves.
For this reason, I have to trust that Bloom sees/knows something most CTers don't. And trust this is the right decision.

Mr. Dewitt, you've outed yourself.

Tells me the re-build (re: LOW PAYROLL) will now continue past 2028, no quality major league Manager would take the job knowing the owner isn't going to spend any money for many years.........if ever again.
Just sell the d a m n team Dewitt.

I would have waited.

Where is written that managers must be best buds with players?

The only indisputable truth about Oli is that he is the manager of the Cards and Ike all managers, must be despised.

You mean the same Dewitt that built this record of success over his tenure as a team owner?
29 years
2 World Championships
4 Pennants
12 NL Central titles
16 playoff appearances
.544 winning percentage, 4th in baseball, 2nd in the NL
From 2000-2025, only two losing seasons
I’ll trust an owner who brought, for even this storied franchise, the most sustained level of success in the club’s history.

“Oli’s extension goes against my narrative, so I have to find a rationale where it does…hmmm… oh I know! It’s BDW being cheap!”

You're living in the past my friend.
That BDWJr is going on 85 years and has set the franchise on a different path from the one who once had a burning desire to build a winner.

Dewitts to Bloom:
“We have removed Mo and given you cart Blanche on remaking the minor leagues and the mlb roster, even if that meant trading fan favorites. But the one thing you are not allowed to change is the very-unpopular manager. I’m sorry, but not only does Oli stay, he’s getting an extension. Sorry, buddy.”
Yeah, that’s far fetched…
