Sorry, since I live out of market in Tenn. I cannot determine IF or WHEN you may have in-market blackouts. I have DirecTV and this is what my package includes on the Extra Innings thru them.

Such as :
80-90 games per week of all 30 MLB teams
Receive the MLB Mix Channel which displays up to 8 games at one time on the screen .
Dual feed announcers ..
Ex. If I am watching the Brewers/ Cardinals , I can watch/record Chip Brad announcers on the Cardinal feed while simultaneously getting the Brewer feed channel with Brian Anderson/Bill Schroeder. Note : I enjoy hearing what the oppostion announcers haveto say about our players/ prospects, etc. Get an unbiased view normally on our team.
If you are a baseball junkie as I am , you can watch not only the Cardinals but the teams in our divisional race plus whatever big games around the league. On my DirecTV system I can record up to 5 channels at one time so often I may have 3 dedicated to the games. ( My wife gets 2 channels to watch/record her CSI,FBI, and Westerns she enjoys ! lol )
The cost for MLB Extra Innings on DirecTV is $150 for the season ... $25 per month for 6 months I heard that the Cardinals only network are charging $99.99 (round it to $100 ) so I get those 80-90 per week plus the above features for an added $50 . For me that's a good bang for the extra 50 bucks!

If I understand correctly, with Directv, I get the Cardinals games without additional charge as long as I have the choice package. Can anyone confirm that?

I asked Grok: For out-of-market viewing or other teams, Extra Innings (or the equivalent MLB.TV out-of-market package, now sold via ESPN) still has blackouts for local teams. MLB has expressed long-term goals to reduce or eliminate blackouts in future rights cycles (potentially beyond 2026), but for this season, the Extra Innings package itself hasn't changed in that regard.

I remember seeing something about ending blackouts. They don't get more people to attend. They reduce the number of people watching games and by doing so they reduce interest in the team which reduces attendance.

I am a Cardinal fan in the Dayton, Ohio area. When the Cardinals play the Reds even when in St. Louis the games are blacked out on MLB extra innings. I haven't watched a Reds' game on TV or attended a Reds' game in over 5 years. I have very little idea who the Reds' players are. Totally dumb.

Um, DirecTV would be the ones to ask...
I'm lazy and people were saying they couldn’t get ahold of anyone there to answer the question. So I was hoping someone on here would just tell me. But thanks for helpful response!

I have DirecTV choice package and I called them and first person was unable to confirm that I would get Cardinal telecasts at no extra cost. She connected me to a different person who assured me that I would get Cardinal games with the Choice package. I still have my doubts, we shall soon see.

I posted this in another thread, but I’ll repeat it here.
I called DirecTv and was told that they are currently in negotiations with MLB, but as of yet haven’t reached any sort of a deal, as related to the Cardinals. The Lady I talked to thought they would have one in place by opening day. She had no idea if there would be any additional costs or not. I guess that depends on how the negotiations go!

Direct TV seems like they might get hosed if they dont work a local teams deal. Because look at the options listed on mlb.com. I have one for $149 that is out of market games. then there is a $199 option for my region team without blackouts and every other teams out of market games.

I don't think the reps at DirecTV know their sports very well. When my buddy called and inquired , 'Will I get the Cardinals with no blackouts , they responded Sure, you will get all the Arizona Cardinals without any blackouts ! Then hung up :D
