It seems Jones or Dominguez might be available

What would it take for Bloom to swing a deal for one of these two outfielders? Would the Yankees be interested in either Crooks or Bernal?

Do we really want another outfielder needing spring training time to prove himself. Aren't we crowded enough in that area? Nothing against either player or your idea, I'm just thinking there might be better areas to trade from our surplus of catchers.

You don't feel Dominguez and/or Jones might be an upgrade over Walker, Scott and Church?

Have you watched Dominiquez play? I have. Often. Like I've said before, he makes Walker look like Clemente. No way am I giving up a quality catcher trade piece for another platoon player.

They have been available the entire offseason. Perhaps the Yankees value them too highly, or perhaps the interest in them is just not that strong.

Crooks yes, Bernal isn't going anywhere.
I would try JoJo and Crooks for Dominguez. If his bat shapes up I could live with him in LF
Not sure they need Crooks though with Wells in there for them at C, unless Chaim could swing another 3-way

Yankee media are raving about Jones power this Spring. They see him as an elite defensive center fielder with speed who can hit 40 home runs per year. They would likely want Winn or Weatherholt.
Dominguez is the one most likely to traded as he is likely to start the season in AAA.
Yankees still looking for another reliever most likely left handed. They also could use a Rh back up catcher. They signed Grichuk as a potential right handed bat for the outfield.
I wouldn’t mind the Cards taking a flyer on Dominguez. He’s still very young and the potential is there. If not him the Cards need to ask about Chase Hampton. He was their top pitching prospect before TJ surgery last Spring. Meanwhile he has been passed by several other young arms for the Yankees and most likely be placed back in the minors.
I would see if Jo Jo and Pages or Pozo could pry him away. If healthy he would rank right behind Doyle on the Cards pitching prospects.

Romero and Pages for Dominguez seems to make some sense. The 23 year old, switch-hitting outfielder, Dominguez, has some potential.

I would do that, Pages could platoon well with Wells.

Bat wise, Dominguez would be a big upgrade over Church and Scott as it stands now. Obviously they have the speed and D over JD. Same for Jones, he is already flexing the power in ST and he is less likely to be moved now.

They won't get that. We acquired an already proven young AS Edgar Renteria for 2nd tier former 1st pick prospect and still retained Drew and Ankiel.
It can be done while still keeping what you need.

He strikes out at a higher rate in the minors than Gorman does in the majors. He'll never be left in the lineup long enough to stack up 40 HR's in a season in the majors, but wow, that kind of power with the short porch in NY. Yikes!

The Cards need OF prospects. Obviously these are projects like Gorman and Walker that may wash out. Dominguez BTV 22 Jones 18. I understand the Yankees want SP protection and catching protection. Pallante 7 and Pages 8 provide that or Crooks 8.6. Romero 6.3 provides some leveredged relief. I would be willing to offer them 2 of those 4 for either of Dominguez or Jones. Their pick. The Cards might miss Pages some this year, but he is not the long term answer. If both Dominguez and Jones wash out, it is still a chance worth taking.

What we need are some OFers who can actually hit.
