Anyone forsee Noot possibly going on the 60-day IL ?

With the foot surgey he had , it is expected that in rehab a player can start running some unassisted in 3 -4 week time frame.( His recovery is behind the expected healing time. ) Noot has gone past that time period and has not approached that stage. A report mentioned that Cardinals when finalizing the 26 man roster may want to keep an added player thus putting Noot on the 60 day IL to delay moving someone off the team.
Has anyone else heard that possibility of Noot goong on extended IL ?
PS One note Fermin is out of options so Cardinal would be in position that if he is not put on the 26 hey would be forced to DFA him and they would not want to do that so the thinking is he has a spot on the final 26.

It wouldn't surprise anyone.
There is a lot of time for multiple things to happen including sending
down a player or 2 who has options.

It's unclear if that is needed with Nootbaar, or not. They could however, put Roby and/or Hjerpe on the 60 day IL at any time.

I have never expected to see Nootbaar in a regular season game until May since he had the surgery. I have posted this on several occasions.

A 60-day would keep him out til about May 25 th . So would you favor the 60-day IL even though say he could be ready to play earlier in May ?
Believe I would so I can keep an extra player . Personally , even though he could be ready to go by early or mid- May I would tend to say keepng that extra player for the full time is worth more than getting Noot back for a week or two sooner. Just IMO

That extra player would be about players without an option playing well enough to
keep while simultaneously having players with options playing well and nobody else
being injured.
The proposal is good, it might be needed anyhow if Lars needs the time or may not
be needed at all. Isn't it Fermin and Velazquez that need roster space?

The team failed to get another OF, seems they are satisfied with guys like Saggese, Fermin, Herrera, and Church in LF, so they can just leave Noot out until May 25th, and hopefully he can be fully healed and play well until the trade deadline so he can be traded for a prospect or two.

I can foresee him never playing another game in the Cardinal uniform again.
Fermin is going to be a good player for us.

Does anyone know if he out of the toes-to-chin "iron boot" which has kept him alive for the past several months?

Fermin is going to be a good player for us.
Unlike Lars The Human Sushi-baar, Fermin has worked to make himself better and certainly deserves a fair look.
From his progress last year, at least he appears to appreciate the game and do whatever he needs to earn time.

Where did you get he could run in 3-4 weeks and is behind schedule? If anything he is on or ahead of schedule. He’s been hitting and started running unassisted a couple days ago.
• 0–2 weeks: Cast/splint, no weight-bearing
• 2–6 weeks: Boot, gradual weight-bearing
• 6–10 weeks: Physical therapy, transition to shoes
• 4–6 months: Return to running
• Up to 12 months: Full recovery

First six weeks must have been a troublesome time- using the bathroom and I guess no showers.
