You would think a Harvard Graduate would figure something out on how to market the team.Whatashame wrote: ↑24 Feb 2026 10:39 am I don’t know why the Cardinals haven’t. They keep getting less and less from whatever entity decides to broadcast their games. Just bring it in house and run the broadcasts on their own. Contact the Blues and possibly the Billikens and set up a sports network. There is a lot of regional support.
The only possible long term problem I see is if MLB has a long term plan to try and control all baseball teams coverage. This would be very difficult because of the discrepancy in media markets but I’m wondering if the long term strategy for MLB and their attempt to implement a cap/floor with aggressive revenue sharing isn’t to try and control the local market revenues.

Red……there is no denying that the DeWitts have made lots of money owning this team and have made some good decisions along the way but I do question their business acumen a lot. Their business decisions have put this team in the shape it’s in.
I don’t know all the details but I wonder what the reasoning is behind their not attempting to start their own network and continue to take less and less for the rights to broadcast Cardinals baseball.

NE so possible I guess. TN? KY too?
Cards hitched their wagon to RSN and were partial owners. Which is a way
to keep revenue that doesn't need to be shared. It imploded o/w they'd be okay.
IF the nearing new CBA does a better job of sharing revenue without the
loopholes, a Bravesvision model may not have a lot of benefits. We'll know in 12
months and who says they're not working on a similar product.
