adding the throw error was the even worse part....

It’s early and I’m sure some nerves are involved but that’s 2 errors in 2 games. Patience grasshopper but I do have an eyebrow raised.

For those who didn't see it from the start , McGreevy game up HR to 1st batter of the game.

You are correct ! Even some experienced big league guys make that same mistake... need to eat the ball as 99% of the time the batter will be safe at first. For that 1% or whatever, you don't want to risk the rest of the time an errant throw that could cost more runs or runners moving up.

What was the deal with the baseballs at the beginning? Mcgreevy asked for a different ball to throw the first pitch of game, and sometime not long at all after the homer, the home ump went over by cardinals dugout and I think even the cardinal coaches and ump went through the balls in the umps pouch.

I noticed something else watching the slo mo replay a few times . JJ is NOT wearing a Rawlings baseball glove. Cmon JJ ! Rawlings is THE glove to wear in St. Louis ! Get with the program JJ ! No wonder you are flubbing those grounders .

JJ can sleep easy knowing the errors and base running blunder won’t keep him from opening day.

Anybody else watching hate the centerfield camera position? Base runner or shortstop keep getting in the way of seeing the catcher.

In spite of the fielding miscues, that was some nice baserunning by JJW which led to the second run. The Cardinals tie the game without getting a hit but took advantage on the bases.

I have never owned anything but a Rawlings Heart of the Hide Pro 3 after I was 12 years old. (XPG 3.) I saved for over a year to buy that glove.

Edited to add:

I have a new one in our basement for my Grandson. He is 19 months old and is a twin. His twin sister doesn't have one yet since she is acting like she is a lefty. When we figure out which hand she will throw with, I'll get her a glove.
