These ST lineups mean very little.

I understand the need to play multiple players early in ST but was, again, hoping that Walker would be in the lineup so that I could get a look at his swing this year in game conditions.

With this lineup, I agree with another poster who wondered why Burleson is hitting in the second slot in the lineup. I also don't understand JJ in the third slot. IMO, switch those two. Go Cardinals.

not sure this has anything to do with strategy yet --- just trying to get players more ab's.

I agree and had the same thought. Still, I can see JJ hitting in the second slot and Burlson hitting in the third slot, so why not do it now? There is a great likelihood that they would get the same amount of at-bats in that lineup.

Saggese at 2nd and Wetherholt at 3rd could be a good thing.

Exactly

You stack your starters into the top of the spring lineups just to get their PA's in against (likely) major league pitchers.

Seems they are alternating days that each player plays - has anyone even been in the lineup 2 days in a row yet?

We used to have numerous Split Squad days to achieve this goal.

Would be nice to see Herrera get a few AB’s. Somehow I think he might be a fairly important piece of the regular season lineup.

He hasn't gotten medical clearance yet for game action.

Nothing of concern, they're just being cautious as he builds up arm strength.

If Gorman continues to put up 2025 numbers they will regret not giving Saggesse more reps at 3B.

I think they have Wetherholt at 2nd. I don't think they want him to move around. I have doubts about Gorman taking control of 3rd. His defense, not much offense at times. I thinks it's his position to loose

I think they plan to bring Saggese along slowly and see how he does as a bat boy first, and then bring him along as he shows competence.

Ding ding ! You catch on fast ... Yes, there are so many players they want to get a look at that they will alternate the regulars playing with day off .. They want to look at the guys that will be possible reserves for this team .
