Does this guy have compromising pictures of someone in the front office? How does this guy still have a roster spot?

Had a decent year a few years ago. Not much since. Does he have options. I know how this effects the FO thinking

Negative 1.1 WAR in just 32 appearances last year is quite an accomplishment

As was said previously at one time looked decent but have seen him blow up so many times.
Just don't have trust when he is in a game as a reliever. Today another example.. gives up 2 out single for a run ..
then with two guys on wild pitch to 2nd and 3rd then next guy 3 -run HR ... all with 2 outs
blows the game wide open 6-2

Did not see any of the game.
It’s ST so wins/losses aren’t that big of a deal as you just want to be ready for the games that matter.
Looking at stat sheet Fernandez did stand out.
He was really good in 2024 and figured to be ready to become a keeper in 2025.
And.....he flat out stunk.
Yikes. Rooting for the kid but when you are worse than Roycroft it’s scary!

I’m guessing they’re hoping he can get back to his 3.51 ERA and 71 strike outs in 66 innings in 2024 form I have my doubts

Hoping is not a strategy.

It failed for mo for sure. But they have several of
These big arm sketchy results relievers in camp
I’m Guessing they think law of averages bring enough of those type of arms in you will hit on one and that’s all you need for one of those arms to click it’s easy to dump the rest

He has 2 options, per Fangraphs

He will start the season in Memphis unless there is a rash of injuries. He was a Rule V pick so he still has time to work it out in minors.
