I thought once you put em through you couldnt pull em back.
I read that both of those moves were made because they would likely clear waivers and still be able to remain in the organization . Granillo would have been claimed. If they find someone they deem worth adding Soriano will be released and likely left unclaimed. In this senerio you added four players and only give up Granillo. Yes but if they are adding a player to the 40 man and Granillo was the guy you would drop off he would still have to clear waivers to be removed from the 40 man. That's what I was speaking of. Not just sending him to the minors. The Cardinals now send Ramos back to DFA limbo just 10 days after claiming him. The 23-year-old infielder had spent his entire career in the White Sox organization before being dealt for cash to the Orioles a couple of weeks back. He’ll provide depth in the minors if St. Louis can get him through waivers.
