Red Sox

The Red Sox still have players that they would like to move, but seem to be having trouble matching up with other teams. They did just get back a draft pick selection in their recent trade to get Durban. Could this be a precursor to another trade? They could still be looking to add Jo Jo Romero, so who, besides that draft pick selection could the Cardinals get?
Before the Donovan deal, I was looking at Kristian Campbell as possible option, as he is a right handed hitting outfielder with no obvious place to play in Boston. He seemed like an obvious choice for St. Louis, then I saw where Boston had extended him even though he had little to no MLB experience! Right there is why the Cardinals weren’t interested in him. As it stands, I believe, the Cardinals do not have any player under contract beyond the CBA agreement. I don’t believe that to be by accident.
Anyway, could a deal with Boston still be coming that would include that draft pick selection?

Their problem isn't so much matching up, but overvaluing what they have. They could easlly trade 1-2 of Bryan Bello, Connelly Earley, or Payton Tolle. Who wouldn't be interested in them? They could/should trade one of Jarren Duran or Wilyer Abreu, but they haven't. With those as a starter, and with 3-4 really interesting prospects left, and Triston Casas and Kristian Campbell without an obvious home- these guys could go big game hunting! They could land literally anyone on the market. Instead they hem-haw around, overvaluing these guys and get nothing done. They could have gotten Ketel Marte, or Brendan Donovan, or Isaac Paredes, or Matt Shaw, or Tarik Skubal, or, or, or... They overvalue their people.

Oh, I agree with you. How are they ever going to find at bats and innings for all their players? That’s what I don’t understand about the deals Bloom made with them. They had players that they appear to don’t want or need that were and are better than the players Bloom acquired from them! Most of those players were not going to be on their 40 man roster anyway. ( Fitts and and Dobbins) these two would have likely be DFA’d by Boston.

I saw that Arizona just had an injury to a left handed reliever, I wonder if that puts them in the mix for Romero?
