Agreed.
How many times can a guy get caught using a banned substance and fail to learn?
Not the sharpest stick on the forest floor.....

I don’t agree with the rule but if it’s a rule and they break it they are idiots and should deal with the consequences

Agree or disagree, that is indeed the bottom line.

Won't impact his paycheck which is the only thing most of today's players care about.

Yes, he was an idiot.
Stipulated.
Is there a similar rule in place for alcohol (asks the guy drinking rye)?

How many times ? Well , every now and then you hear a story where a DUI person crashes into another vehicle and kills the driver and/ or passengers and the follow-up story is that it was the 3rd or 4th time he or she was arrested for DUI . Some never learn despite some jail time etc.

In this day and age, this is a dumb rule. And I will add I'm 80 years old.

I agree dumb rule but when you know the rules and willingly and knowingly break them you are dumber than the rule is. Especially when it comes to that if he can’t stop smoking weed from 30 days before WBC starts until after then he has a problem

Why do we struggle with rules. If you are playing for an organization, working for an organization, belong to an organization why is it a problem participating under the rules they set up.

I have no problem with an organization setting rules and if I want to be a part of that organization, I follow the rules they set up. I always have the choice to not join that organization if I don’t want to follow the rules they set up. This seems pretty basic to me.

This is a WBC rule I assume? I thought mlb officially didn’t care anymore?

Baez wasn’t driving was he?

In 5 years cars won’t even need drivers. Waymo is already here.

You can attempt to follow the rules but with pot still test positive for use a month or more before that organization even became active, or for even just breathing the air in many US cities.

We never test for proximity to past alcohol use like this.

A big plus +1 I smoked marijuana pretty much daily in college when I graduated and was commissioned into the army i immediately stopped and haven’t smoked since then because the army and the job I’ve had since getting out of the army don’t allow it. Once I retire I will get a medical card and start back. He knew he can’t smoke it and participate in the WBC and chose to anyway that’s his dumb choice

Dumb or not, the rule is easy to understand, well-known, and easy to follow. Baez is a fool and the onus is on him.
