Would you for a bench player and backup at first.

No he has shown no dignity of production for past 2 years.

In my opinion a role like that would be much heavier in the leadership department. A Pujols like event.

No. Its a youth movement. Dont need him taking g those ABs away. Would rather see Nelson V gets those ABs to see if they catch lightning in a bottle. With PG, you know his floor and cieling are about the same level.

He’s not a good fit.

If he were an OFer, yes.

But the infield already has a lot of pieces.

He’s best going to a team a little light in 1b and platoon dh

Why would anyone think Goldy wants to come back to StL. He's had a great career and I would assume he would want a playoff team. Coming back to StL makes no sense for Goldy or the Cards.

Based upon the current talent Goldy would be the starting 1B. It would take desperate time in Goldschmidt house to return to MO Ranville.

Goldy 2025 vs LHP:
168 PA's
7 HR
.336 .411 .570 .981

Burly 2025 vs LHP:
127 PA
3 HR
.271 .310 .398 .708

IF the price was right, then I'd take Goldy as a platoon w/Bumbles at 1st base and RHH'er off the bench.

(That said I still think he ends up back w/the DBacks)

Good enough for the Yankees, but not the Cardinals.

Cards in a rebuild. Yanks not. He was hired as a defensive replacement. Yanks have deeper lineup.

This rebuild is totally garbage. He would have been a great bat coming off the bench, a proven player who would have added leadership. Goldschmidt's return not only bolsters the Yankees' offense but also brings leadership to the clubhouse.
