It’s called revenue sharing which would eliminate most of the moaning and groaning about “Big Markets Spend too Much,,,,We can’t compete”
There already is revenue sharing.Goldfan wrote: ↑04 Feb 2026 10:29 amIt’s called revenue sharing which would eliminate most of the moaning and groaning about “Big Markets Spend too Much,,,,We can’t compete”
Why do I care what MLB does with their $$?
How does Green Bay compete with NY and LA in NFL? It’s all shared….I get there’s no local TV with NFL…..but NY and LA obviously bring in more Rev than GB….and its shared.
It’s troubling that the cards broadcast autonomy is for sale…Goldfan wrote: ↑04 Feb 2026 10:29 amIt’s called revenue sharing which would eliminate most of the moaning and groaning about “Big Markets Spend too Much,,,,We can’t compete”

48% with 52% staying with local Team. If they fully revenue shared now…..what would Cranny be complaining about that poor BDW can’t compete with big bad LA….NYalw80 wrote: ↑04 Feb 2026 10:32 amThere already is revenue sharing.Goldfan wrote: ↑04 Feb 2026 10:29 amIt’s called revenue sharing which would eliminate most of the moaning and groaning about “Big Markets Spend too Much,,,,We can’t compete”

The system is obviously broken. The Product is MLB, if half their teams can’t achieve local TV rev then time for a change.
These aren’t independent entities……they need the other teams to come to town in order to have a product to sell. They’re all in this together under MLB. MLB is the product. Do you go watch the home stand on the field alone?45s wrote: ↑04 Feb 2026 10:44 amAs you wish comrade …Goldfan wrote: ↑04 Feb 2026 10:37 amThis greatly troubles you as a Houston fan???45s wrote: ↑04 Feb 2026 10:33 amIt’s troubling that the cards broadcast autonomy is for sale…Goldfan wrote: ↑04 Feb 2026 10:29 amIt’s called revenue sharing which would eliminate most of the moaning and groaning about “Big Markets Spend too Much,,,,We can’t compete”

I’m opposed to New York dictating broadcast policy in Stl, Houston , or any other city.
Good luck getting the Dodgers to agree to share their massive $334M per year that rises to over $500M near the end of the deal!
