I wonder how close to that date Bloom will wait to make his remaining deals. The Betts trade was made on February 8. I'm not sure it benefits him to wait since he has publicly announced his intention to trade Arenado and Donovan. He didn't get full value from the Dodgers because they waited him out knowing he wanted to trade Price and Betts.

Well if neither go, then we just kept two defensive studs. Best infield in baseball and 2/3 outfield. Great for a young emerging staff.

It will help the defense but there are big questions about the starting pitching.

I agree. The starting pitching is basically in its infant stage. A great defense behind them will benefit I would think.

The trade deadline isn't until the end of July.

Fans are the only ones who think it’s a big deal to publicly say a player is available every GM and POBO does it in order to create a market for a players

As bad as I want to get rid of Arenado I don’t want to do a bad or weak deal. Not so concerned with what we get back in return but how much cash we have to pay. If he stays and we don’t trade Donovan and JJ makes roster not sure what to do at third. I guess Donovan goes to outfield which I hate. Honestly I would limit NA playing time.

True. It seems unlikely Donovan would be worth more with 1 year and 2 months left on his contract than with 2 years left. Regarding Arenado we pay him $18 million to block a younger player for 4 months during a rebuild.
