The big holdup will be Arenado probably not willing to go to a bad team. I think he will be wanting to go to a team that has at least a chance to win a title. That pretty much cuts the Angels out.

I once thought that too. But if they become his only suitor Arenado may choose the bad team in his native Orange County over his current rebuilding team who don't want him anymore.

His alternative is to stay with a worse team located in the Midwest. I mean, beggars can't be choosers

Teams trying to win titles aren't looking for defense only players at power positions.
