The tools sound great and exciting. I hope he reaches and maintains that level but that medical history is compelling. In particular that thoracic outlet problem that sent Chris Carpenter to retirement. He's a lottery ticket with a very high upside. Better getting someone like him than a Fedde type.

pretty big deal regardless of age but at age 37 the rehab
to get back in the game might be more challenge than
he wanted to take on.

He’s exactly the kind of prospect we needed to target. High upside guy with top of rotation stuff. Just have to help him get there.

I like them going for high risk/high ceiling guys bubt whoa -- that's some injury history:
"Tommy John surgery in 2019...
- freshman spring after undergoing surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome.
- transferred to State College of Florida and missed most of his first season there due to a stress fracture in his shoulder.
- blisters last year."

Zach wheeler...Matt Harvey....looks like it'(poop) and miss....Harvey wad a shell of his former self... wheeler is a stud...I think I remember carpenter saying he had no feeling in his fingertips...having a rib removed is also part of the surgical procedure...crazy......you only need to see Clarke throw to see what they liked about him....his stuff looks wicked...

Clarke could be challenging for lefty hitters. Hopefully, righties, too. Hope he stays healthy and gets some work at AA this season.

I suspect that was a feeble attempt at humor.
