There seems to be a slight logjam of catchers

Will Bloom trade at least one of them for help in another area? It seems it would be the prudent thing to do. Especially, with Rodriguez coming up in the not too distant future. Hopefully, sometime in '27.

I bet he trades Contreras. I'm thinking Red Sox.

Trading a Catcher(s) could certainly be part of a deal.
In fact it is almost guaranteed to happen eventually!
Crooks could push out Pages or Pozo this Spring.
Fortunately they have time with Bernal(Sept. call up maybe?) and Rodriguez(2 years?).

If they packaged Burleson and a young catcher they might get a nice return. Gorman can handle 1B next season.

I agree. If Crooks or Bernal is involved in a trade. I'm hoping one is exchanged for a similar caliber young outfielder. Considering both Crooks and Bernal are top ten prospects.

you shouldn't trade a Catcher...not right now.
Bernal in Memphis, you want a good catcher with all those pitching assets. Pages RHB, Crooks LHB...let them handle the pitching staff in St. Louis.
Trading Catchers shouldn't happen until heading into 2027. I don't consider Pozo in the logjam of catchers...he's just a another guy who can sometimes handle a bat.
Rodriguez...as well as he did in 2025 to erase concerns about his catching skills, he's still well behind Bernal as a catcher. Meaning?....he's going to be moved off of catching in a year or two...back to 3B or OF...maybe 2B?
And you NEVER trade Bernal.

So is your only plan to get a quality outfielder, right now, trading Donovan? Then what's your plan for 3B?

Probably not. That’s why I said “eventually”.
My guess is Bernal and especially Rodriquez aren’t going anywhere unless they overwhelm Bloom with a deal?

Prospects are more important than a 2026 OFer

there's no need for a quality OF or quality 3B in 2026...that's your fantasy. The Cards aren't moving assets for offensive players this year.
that's it...no more round and round with you on the same stupid topic.
Troll elsewhere. Ecleme was nice enough to try to get you to understand, but you played the part once again.

"there's no need for a quality OF or quality 3B in 2026". You're the inept one if you feel Bloom is going to allow this team to have a trashheap '26. By the way, you do a pretty good job of trolling me.

Back it up then....where has he ever said "We're competing for a playoff spot in 2026"....and then answer the following: How does shedding your 2 best players, and maybe your 3rd (Donovan) keep the team from the Trash Heap in 2026...the same place they were in 2025?
Provide links to the first question, please.....and then diagrams or graphs to back up the Math on the Miraculous Improvement from 2025 to 2026 by shedding your 3 best players.
Thanks in advance.

Do I think Bloom could grab an OFer and/or infielder for the 2026 roster? Yes.
Do I think that will come back from a trade of BD and/or the young catchers?
Almost 100% no.

With respect, I believe the thought is that the Cardinals will not finish the rebuild in 2026. The team would likely make do at 3rd and OF next season, take their lumps, ride out whatever labor situation occurs, then finish the job afterward. There are just too many holes to adequately fill in one off-season. Perhaps if the CBA stuff weren’t up in the air they’d move out more assertively, but I think the job is too big to knock out in one year.
That is how I read the situation. Your mileage may vary.
