The Royals and outfielder Lane Thomas are in agreement on a one-year deal. The Wasserman clients $5.25MM with another $1MM available via incentives. Will Sammon of The Athletic first reported that the two sides were in agreement. Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reported the financial details. Kansas City has a couple of open 40-man spots and won’t need to make a corresponding move.

Sure, people like you and me needed Randy to play more in 2019 to really assess his talent. But a good organization's evaluation of a player shouldn't be dependent on 30 more PAs during a September callup. They should know...

The lack of playtime was before the video recording, so that probably wasn't the reason he didn't play. That was probably the reason he was shipped out.

DEXTER FOWLER was most certainly the reason he didn't play! The DEXTER FOWLER signing was perhaps the WORST FA signing ever in Cards history. Not only did he SUCK big time while here, he had a horrible attitude, helped get Matheny fired, and blocked a lot of players from playing and players from being signed.

I remember seeing Randy play in ST before ever being called up to StL. It was obvious he had talent. More talent than Lane Thomas. If Mo thought otherwise, its another example of what a putz that bow tied jackass is.

One of the craziest things about the Randy trade was that it was AFTER we saw young OFs O’Neill and Bader have “uh oh!” seasons. You know…seasons that might make you rethink their long term viability and talent.

But Mo doubled down on them, Thomas and others. SMH.
