Incomplete.
I suspect most people - not all - grasp that one team cannot actually force another team to agree to a trade on some subjective and arbitrary timetable.

Hard to grade him on zero results! However, it does take two to tango. I’d prefer he take his time and get it right.
The guys on MLB were complaining about the lack of action, especially with trades. They were suggesting a trading period, where teams only have a window to make deals and sign free agents. It would stop agents like Boras from dragging things out so much!
Their reasoning was that people would be more apt to watch and be more interested, if they knew things were guaranteed to happen.

I understand grading someone on moves that were ACTUALLY made.
How do you grade someone on moves NOT made??
Now.....if someone told us exactly what moves he turned down then that’s a different story!

Hilarious attempting to give a grade on a GM at meetings where no teams made any significant trades .
Thank goodness MLB Network didn't tell their analysts , you will be paid by your trade analysis comments on air rather than the total hours you sit behind the desk for your shifts ... IF they had, there would be NO checks in the mail for the 'talking heads' . Another big fat zero !
What I found interesting is that these POBO types mention that most all communication on trades is done thru phone text, a phone call, or zoom chats on a computer. Most have no face to face meetings with the other GM's . They all gather at these posh resort locations and could do the same thing right from their local city baseball offices . At least, Disney is making tens of thousands on rooms, meal, etc.
One guy commented , back a few years ago two GM"s would sit at the bar and over a drink work out a trade . No more !
No commentator will bite the hand that feeds them but even they must feel foolish spending all that air time as 'experts' and having no trades made just a couple free agent signings .
So Harold Reynolds, Matty V. Lauren Shehadi get to be wined and dined for a few days on the MLB tab. Nice freebie vacation !

Too early to tell. He worked it to find out what he had in terms of offers. Now he will study and probably make counter proposals.
I continue to think Arenado isn't going to be as easy to trade as some think.

The buildup to these meetings is like the buildup to the 2 weeks before the Super Bowl. Lots of hype, no action.

Winter meetings have been a bunch to do about nothing for quite some time. Trades are rare, at least for the Cardinals. Seems to be a big meet and greet, I'll call you later bucket of nothing. I quit paying attention years ago.
