He's got some very good numbers as a second baseman, I'm good with this selection.

What say you?

The bar gets lower every year. He doesn't have the counting stats or the rate stats. 123 OPS+ is not HoF worthy. 55 war is good but not great by any means. If he's in then Goldy is slam dunk first ballot as he has 65+ war and OPS+ 10 points higher.

I like a world where Goldy is borderline.

Yes he should probably be in. He’s one of the best hitting second baseman of all time and it’s also hilarious that he got in and that probably makes bonds who he had a feud with and got left out of the hall of fame even angrier

I say it should be Ken Boyer

Looking at numbers in Baseball Reference, it sure seems that Edmonds is more qualified for the HOF than Kent is.

He leads all second baseman in home runs. Third all time in RBI. Fourth in OPS.

However, his only black ink according to Baseball Reference is two seasons leading the NL in Sac Flies.

+1 that’s why you can’t say because the best power hitting second baseman got in then fringe hall of fame candidate 1st baseman should be in

Somehow they need to fix the HOF. Have one wing for the very good players and another one for the greatest players of all time. Kent can be in the same wing as Mazeroski. Used to be 3,000 hits to get in and 400 homers with a .300 or more lifetime BA. Pitchers had to have 300 wins. At least they only let one in this year.

I think that Barry Bonds helped Kent get into the Hall of Fame. He would not have made it in without his years with Bonds.

I'm old school and I think he was a very good player but the hof should be for the elite. I really don't care what the metrics say in my opinion, and its just that, he just doesn't pass the eye test for the hof. I agree with those that say that the bar has been lowered.

He’s the best power hitting second baseman ever to play the game and third in RBIs by second baseman I think he has a pretty high bar. You have to compare the hall of famers against others at their position
