Looking forward to Doyle getting spring training invite

The past several years the 1st round picks have gotten invites so that would be nothing new.
The ‘Madman’ should quickly become a fan favorite with his mound intensity just as Al Hrabosky was years ago.
As Randy Flores stated, we interviewed him face to face and you would not know off the field he is so intense on the mound. He is like Al H., Chris Carpenter, and Waino. They all flip a switch when they get on a mound.
His fastball is major league caliber right now. How fast he develops his secondary pitches will determine how fast he gets to ‘the Show’.
Should be fun watching the ‘Madman’ do his thing!

I saw him interviewed on the Blues telecast the other night, I was impressed. I sure hope he can stay in the rotation, and not become just a bullpen piece.

If he and JJ pan out over the next couple of seasons, that will be fun to watch....

Living in Tenn. I was able to watch most of his games in 2025 and agree with your statement. In fact, prior to the draft zI mentioned his talent but was concerned about bring too volatile.
Hopefully, some of that conduct will be reigned in by coaches and older players … the swearing at opponents I disliked. In MLB, he will create a brawl if he tries that and suspensions.

It will be interesting to follow Doyle's progress in professional baseball. Great college stats but college is below the lowest level of pro ball.
I would expect him to do well. He turns 22 in June. Could be in St Louis by the time he is 23.

That's possible but I'd probably leave him in the minors to work on secondary pitches and where the managers are going to adhere to a strict pitch count.

I realize that JJ was not brought up at the end of the 2025 season but Masyn Winn was brought up late Aug.2023 for his debut ( not affecting starting his ‘clock’ service time.
So I posted earlier late 2026 as possibility for Doyle to give him a taste of the Majors just like they did with Winn.
Will hope he pitches well in minors this year to get that shot. be fun to see him the final month getting a few starts.

Could happen but I'd be inclined not to turn him over to Marmol until he has thrown more innings and built up his arm. He threw 99.1 innings in 2025 up from 55 innings in 2024. Marmol leaves the starting pitcher on the mound regardless of performance to save the bullpen.
I'd be careful with him but you are right. He could be up in late 2026 if his milb numbers are good.

He should do well. Most college teams are below A ball in minors, but some teams from the SEC often have starting lineups as good as many AA minor league teams. 7 of the last 10 college World Series champions came from the SEC, and 7 of the last 10 runner ups also.
