Thanks for the good years! They were great! Our granddads, fathers, uncles, brothers and sons all enjoyed them. Now they are fading memories, stories told to skeptical kids who for their generation find zero joy in launch angles, endless strikeouts and otherwise boring baseball. What will our generations look like if we really do officially unhook from the Cards now?

And there are rules regarding how many consecutive years a team can be in the lottery. No more Cub/Astro/Oriole style tanks. They should stink next year but hopefully be ramping up by '27.

One of the many catchers pans out. We get a #1 or another #2/3 SP from the Donovan and Romero trade(s). The next draft is decent. And we fill any position holes and maybe a top-end SP with FA money once spending ramps back up for a championship window....this could be a fun, competitive team in 2027 and a real candidate in 2028.

I saw on Fangraphs where they had our farm system ranked 2nd, based on Future Value.
