He is determining what the market will bear. He doesn't have to trade Donnie. He collecting pitching, and is still short of it, so I suspect that is his first ask, and then a RH hitting OFer. Maybe a 3B prospect as well.

Yes, he doesn't have to trade Donovan but they also realize he is willing to do so as 1) he is beginning the rebuild and Donnie is his biggest trade chip . They realize Donovan is worth more with 2 years remaining til FA vs. after next year with 1 year left.

As I said, all will be clear by ST. There are many trade possibilities between Nado, WC, and Donnie. Noot would be harder to trade given that he is recovering and will have to prove he is healthy. I just don't want to watch Gorman butcher 3B defense every day.

3 teams fit that possibility in a Donovan trade.
Seattle can offer Emerson Hancock as a controllable starter, Montes or Arroyo as the top prospect and comp pick b as Seattle is likely to get one. They should also ask for Williamson as a fit at third to see if his offense picks up. He’s a terrific defensive third baseman.
Dodgers can offer River Ryan as the mlb ready pitcher and either Freeland or Sirota as the top tier prospect and lotto pick
Yankees can offer Hampton as the pitcher and either Jones or Dominguez as the other player.

Well, I certainly could be wrong, but as it stands, those are three areas of need if he trades Donovan, and somehow manages to shed Nado. Saggese has neither the arm or bat to play 3B. JJ is an unknown for 3B to me. It would certainly fit the team needs better if he plays 3B, but I don't know how well he can do that. I just don't want to see Saggese or Fermin as everyday players. I am assuming Gorman is gone, but if he is here, he needs to be DH. He is a garden gnome in the field. Now and then, but not the everyday third baseman. There are many pieces here that could be traded or kept. I suspect it will all be clear by ST. Anyway, yes I know Donovan is his biggest trade chip, but he will look for a bidding war and the highest return. The question is whether the return will be MLB ready player(s) or AAA. I don't see him trading Donovan for a lottery ticket.
