Good. Lots of money and a young base of good players is attractive to FAs who want to win.

#1 rated farm system, I like that. Still one of the oldest teams. That will surely go down before opening day.

Yep, Bloom is off to a good start but we were at rock bottom so it'd have been hard for him not to start well. So far so good though.

Did Tampa win with #1 farm for 10 years? This will only work with a return to 2006-2011 top 10 payroll. Currently $220m. I would argue spending that $100m on 3 superstars they could compete now. Plenty of role players and #1 farm. Next 3 FA classes horrible. Why not go for it? Should have Kept Gray and added SP and a elite bat

Just stating facts. No WS has been won in 20 years by a not top 10 payroll and Cardinals had one in 2006-2011. Why is that now too much to ask?

Having the #1 farm system - principally because Wetherholt, Doyle, etc. haven't graduated from it yet - doesn't mean they are ready to compete in 2026.

They will be ready to compete again in 2-3 years when, hopefully, Wetherholt, Doyle, etc. are actually in the majors and actually performing at an All-Star or at least borderline All-Star level.

For this particular season, that would be a good thing.

But next 3 FA classes are horrible so by not adding not your saying no FA movement of significance for 3-4 seasons. This was the time to buy

I don't think we know that. Guys have buy outs they may exercise, etc.

I'm very certain they'll be able to add whenever the time is right.

There have been dozens of articles written and interviews given that cover the Cards strategy. When you harp and harp against that strategy, you are yelling at clouds.

The lower payroll goes the longer it will take to get into top 10.

Teams have been locking down their young superstars which is all they will need to add. Someone to draw fans to the stadium.
