Could Bloom get about this type of return for Contreras?

If so. I would hope a nice power hitting prospect (higher rated than Jordan) would be coming to the Cardinals. By the way, I'm neutral on trading Contreras. But I do feel Burleson would be fine as the starting 1B.

Would a team trade for Contreras as a possible DH? If so, that would open up more potential trade partners.

Contreras shouldn't be viewed as underwater at all. Still a very good consistent hitter with only 2 years left.

Absolutely. That's why Bloom might be able to get a similar return for Contreras to what he got for Gray, trade value-wise. And the Cardinals might not have to send any money with the trade.
