we'll get an expiring contract...probably a pitcher with a 4-5 ERA who can give us 130-150 innings. In my opinion, they would have to eat at least half of his contract just to trade him for basically nothing. They would have to pay almost the entirety of his salary to get any value. I think they pay the half and call it a win. The Tucker trade had terrible timing for the Cards. It led Arenado to question the Astros' ability to compete and him passing on the trade. Ugh. Agreed. Half or more of his contract then we may as well keep him, unless we are getting back a decent prospect back. That I find hard to believe unless Bloom gets one of the other G.M.s drunk at the meetings in a few weeks. See Shady, you could still be right!
