This might have helped Burleson get the Silver Slugger Award

He was in rare company with both at least a .290 batting average and at least a .450 Slugging %. Very impressive. He needs to keep the BA around .290 and up the Slugging % to around ,480 be an All Star caliber hitter. It's doable for Burly. Anybody disagree?

Umm, I think THIS might have helped a little more:

NL Silver Sluggers
Position/Player (wRC+/OPS+)
DH: Ohtani (172/179)
1B: Alonso (141/144)
OF: Soto (156/160)
OF: Carroll (139/140)
OF: Tucker (136/143)

Finalists for "Utility" Silver Slugger:
DH/1B/OF: Burleson (124/125), -12.4 DEF RAA
2B/SS/OF: Donovan (119/119), -0.1 DEF RAA
1B/2B/SS: Cronenworth (117/108), +1.3 DEF RAA

Burleson, a bat-only defensive liability at lower-value defensive positions, beat out two actual utility players for the "Utility" Silver Slugger Award.

So how many hitters had a higher combo of .290 BA and .450 % Slugging than Burleson in the NL?

So do you still feel Burleson is an AAAA type player? If so, why don't the Cardinals just move on from him?

What really helped Burleson is that Utility Silver Slugger is a contrived award a step above a "Participant" ribbon. It also helped his competition were Donovan and Cronenworth. How long will you continue this goofy victory lap? Wait, I know. Through next season, at least.

No, because I never said that.

Do you still feel Burleson is “the next Tony Gwynn / Joey Votto”? Because as many posters have attested and you have admitted, you actually *DID* say that.

I contribute by not posting copy and paste articles every hour on the hour! I contribute by not creating OP's that have been discussed over and over again about the same topics! I contribute by having my own thoughts, not some AI article that you find! Wish you would try to contribute a little more like myself there Shadester!

It was probably more like hoping or he has the potential to be “the next Tony Gwynn / Joey Votto”. Do you have the exact verbiage in your Shady historical files? Which is a left-handed compliment, by the way. But, none the less, Burleson has progressed nicely. Don't you agree?

“It was probably more like”? So you’re admitting you don’t actually know what you said? Then how can you categorically deny what numerous posters have specifically attested you said?

You’d be a disaster on the witness stand, Maple.
