So who is the 'mystery' team inquiring about Arenado ?

I pose this partially in jest but each year when rumors fly regarding landing spots for 'vet ' players , the 'insider ' types will rattle off 3 or 4 teams that would be possible trade targets. When things aren't heating up, one of the 'insiders' (to stir the pot I guess ) comes out with a report

Insider (fill in the blank ) says in addition to these 3 teams(usually will name them ) that have inquired about Nolan Arenado , there is a 4th 'mystery' team that has discussed Arenado with Chaim Bloom .

Now with the Winter Meetings 37 days away, I suspect that we may soon have the 'mystery' team announcement forthcoming. :D

Anyone on CT care to speculate on a 'mystery' team ? I sure have no clue ..it's a mystery to me !

My guess, you are correct. Maybe Arenado wouldn't mind playing close to his home area.

I dunno. Maybe the Rockies. They are pretty lame at third base with the 30 year old they have there now. Perhaps they'll feel nostalgic and be willing to give him a chance to pad his stats in zero gravity. Maybe it will give them a chance to lose 115 games instead of 119. Otherwise, who would see value in a .237/.289/.377/.666 hitter deep into the decline phase of his career?

Probably not a good idea to introduce puns to the thread.
It is a slippery slope....
