Bloom adds to coaching staff with out-of-the-box hire ..Casey Demko

The Cardinals have hired Casey Demko as their new infield coordinator from an NCAA Division I coaching staff
Casey Demko, who was an assistant coach for Abilene Christian University baseball the last three seasons, announced on X this evening that he was coaching the Cardinals' organization as their new infield coordinator.
According to Demko's staff profile, his primary duties included infield coaching, assisting offensive development, and overseeing team defense. In the 2023 season, his first season as an assistant for the Wildcats, the program finished the season as the 12th-ranked defense in the country. The team also finished with the highest fielding percentage in program history in the 2023 season.

This is an upgrade? Making a claim that this is "the highest fielding percentage in program history" (3 years ago), means nothing if they were garbage to begin with

and I am sure you are aware of the recent trend the last couple of years to hire younger major league managers too . Many of the MLB managers are less than 45 years old with a few in their 30's .
Past experience in manager's seat in minors is no longer a valued prerequisite . As Joe Maddon recently said, 'you had to earn your stripes to become a big league manager . That is not the case any more. Good or bad ...that seems to be the trend today .

One it’s not a recycled MLB coach
Two it is from outside the organization.
