Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Royals and Guardians are two of the clubs interested in acquiring him. Goold also mentions that the Yankees and Dodgers had interest prior to the deadline, which perhaps indicates they would be interested again.

Ken Rosenthal, Will Sammon and Katie Woo of The Athletic says the Cards are willing to entertain offers on many of their players but would prefer to hold Alec Burleson and Iván Herrera.

That’s refreshing to hear that they don’t want to trade their only RH young Power bat…….

Somewhat interesting to me that Masyn Winn was not mentioned as a “prefer to hold on to” player. Especially with JJ knocking on the door.

He’d make a valuable piece to a trade involving a high potential TOTR or power hitter

Bloom should insist on Noah Cameron from KC.

We're gonna end back up with Michael Wacha, aren't we?

I noticed that too banner.

But if some team came knocking w/a great young, cost & multiple years controlled starting pitcher or power hitting OF'er, then you'd have to listen.

A gold glove only SS, I've never made him "off limits".

I've said repeatedly that Masyn Wynn is the best player on this team and he's off limits. But I pride myself for not being stubborn about my opinions. I can be talked out of things. Here's my thought. This time next year, will he still be the best player on the team? It's quite possible Wetherholt eclipses him. I don't draft players for need. I trade surplus for players for need. The right deal gets you Wynn.

I think they didn’t mention Winn because I think most media and experts think there’s slim to no chance they would trade Winn than because bloom doesn’t consider him a player he prefers to keep. JJ isn’t going to be play shortstop he may occasionally when Winn needs a day off but he’s going to be either the second or third baseman and it will most likely be second base. Bloom knows you need be strong up the middle and JJ and Winn would be dynamic

Good one.

KC spent a SP on India and wants to take another swing at it with another
SP.

Holding Burleson and Hererra are what I thought made sense. Move Contreras and open up 1B/DH for those two.

Interest in Donovan isn't surprising. What we get in return is the question.

Well after some of the proposals, I Just can't imagine an infield of Gorman, JJ, Saggese, and Burleson . That just moves too few tickets.

ESPN Jeff Passan was speculating that Clevelalnd Guardians a team also interested in Donovan. From reading the replies earlier KC is getting the bulk of the discussion.

A thought that crossed my mind (and no sources etc. just something that popped into my head ) is that Asst. GM Dir. of Pllayer Development
spend a few years with the Guardians. Bloom hired Rob C. from there. So Cerfolio would have in-depth knowledge of the Guardians minor leaguers .

He knows the players to target from Cleveland. Just a thought on not only Donovan but any trades with Cleveland.

I’d rather keep Donovan and trade Winn but all options have to be considered.

That would be silly IMO. A GG shortstop who has not turned 24 y/o yet and has already shown bat potential at the MLB level, who doesn't hit free agency until 2030, is a commodity that you pair with a JJW type.

Winn wasn't mentioned in the article or chat because anyone with any sense knows that Winn isn't on the table unless someone just blows the Cards away with a silly offer.
