But, the numbers he's put up at Springfield and Memphis the last 2 seasons are pretty impressive.

2025 at Memphis - .328/.441/.464/.905 in 104 games (414 PAs)
2024 - at Springfield - .331/.418/.416/.834 in 121 games (528 PAs)

He's played 2B, 3B, 1B, C, and OF.

Does he deserve at shot at the major league level during ST in 2026? Maybe a better option for versatile backup bench player than either Fermin or Prieto?

As I correctly analyzed in the thread discussing his addition to the 40-man, this is a very clear indication that Bloom intends to very aggressively and seriously consider moving Donovan.
There is no other serious reason to add 28 year old Torres after 10 years in the minors.

A lot of older players put up good numbers at AA and AAA. But maybe they are going to make him one of the cadidates to replace Donovan once he’s traded

others would have to be dealt...a lot of others. But there's a path for him....Fermin, Prieto, Donovan, Saggese, Nado, Contreras, Church, VS2, Koperniak stand in his way...a lot of those would need to depart to free up some space.

Torres and Jose Fermin are both super utility types that have plus bat to ball skills that have earned the opportunity.

The roster is jammed at these positions, though, considering Wetherholt has to be starting on the infield somewhere.

I’d see what the market is for both Donovan and Winn, especially if they think Wetherholt can play SS. They’d have all of Fermin / Torres / Saggese / Gorman to cover IF, and
Torres can also play in the OF.
