You're very welcome ! Yes, it was very difficult during Mo's tenure . The classic Mo speak that will be etched in my brain forever is his incessant use of the word 'Obviously' He would be asked a question and start his reply with 'Obviously ....
I would listen and think No, Mo Everything is NOT 'obvious' .. You would think someone in the organition PR department would have alerted Mo to the overuse of 'obvious ' but then again maybe he wasn't a guy who could accept constructive criticixm .
Similar to those who latch on the expression 'With that said ..... and use that over and over. That drive me nuts too lol

Sometimes I wondered how Mo got to be so BAD at dealing with the public. I would think that while that's not the MOST important part of being a POBO, it has to be pretty important, especially in a town like ours. I know we're not a NY/LA/Chicago market, but we still follow baseball year round. Felt like he resented having higher expectations while also acting like he knew way more than any of us...which...usually I'd say that was probably true, but I don't think it was a true as Mo liked to think.
Chiam's a breath of fresh air, and I'm grateful for it.

Yeah, that's another one . Also , those who between thoughts insrtead of pausing (silence) before starting their next sentence say 'and' .
I supervised student teachers long ago . Would video tape their presentations to students. Sometimes I would get a 23 year old who would say 'and' after every thought or statement. Very common in some rookie teachers AND saw it a lot AND it drove the students whacky AND instead of listening to the dialogue the students would be counting how many times they said AND to them AND did you ever have a teacher that did that ? lol

You both are correct.
And who can forget he used the famous “Best Practices” line that is uttered by numerous fools in the business world every day?
He was a great example of the Peter Principle.
Bloom is like a breath of fresh air in comparison.

He's certainly saying the right things. We're about to find out how much power he actually has.

We all know know POBO has unlimited funds . The owner controls that . At least initially , Bloom has convinced DeWitt to invest a lot more $$$ in the scouting , coaching, player development areas . He has hired a slew of guys and bought more tech stuff for his analytics/scouting people. Good start !

OTOH, keeping Marmol and all the ML coaches...not a good start. I'm not sure which I hate more: 1) the idea that Bloom freely chose to keep all of those clowns or 2) the possibility that he wasn't allowed to make the kinds of very basic changes that any executive should be dying to make right now.
Either way, not a good sign of things to come.
We'll see.

maybe bill dewitt the 3rd is so immensly terrible at dealing with the public that it is contagious to his employees or they get used to speaking with dewitt the 3rd which just hurts their pr skills. and mo still looks a pr genous compared to dewitt 3
marmol aint exactly stellar dealing with media either.

Thank you very much for posting the link.
A very enjoyable listen.
Bloom very clearly thinks strategically almost identically as I do.
I have made the point here many times that STL can begin building the foundation for 90+ wins in future years, but by doing the right things this off-season they can certainly reasonably chase 85-86 wins in 2026.
Bloom said exactly the same thing.
Hearing him agree with my strategic assessment is certainly a positive indicator.
Clearly a highly intelligent man.
It was also interesting listening to his description of what Walker needs to improve on this off-season.
It was far from an endorsement of Walker and hinted at waning patience.
Walker may well be on a very short leash - if he returns at all.
Though it was not mentioned, Herrera may be a part of that.
