2 were named, but none started
Miguel Ugueto went 1 for 2, with the 1 being a 2 rbi single in the 9th to tie the game at 4 to 4.
Darlin Saladin entered the bottom of the 9th, walking 2 and giving up a single to load the bases before losing the game on a sac fly

both may have 40 man implications but i'm not super sure. ugueto has had a great AFL campaign though

Re: Cards prospects in AFL all-star game
AFL season over for cards prospects.
Miguel Ugueto went out with a bang hitting a grand slam.
The cards pitchers didnt play in the final game, which is too bad because the non cards pitchers gave up a 6-2 lead and 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th and 8th towards a 8-7 loss.

Hopefully they have something in Miguel Ugueto. Would be nice for at least ONE of these prospects to not crash and burn and the major league level.

Re: Cards prospects in AFL all-star game
I'm familiar with the AFL but not quite clear how players are selected to play there. Do players volunteer to get more experience or are they sent by their team?
Re: Cards prospects in AFL all-star game
teams can ask you, but the player usually makes the call. Players do need "X" amount reps, so they usually jump at the chance to play in 1 of the 4 post season leagues...especially if they missed time during the season. Soon to be Free Agents/Rule 5 eligible players will go to showcase their value or increase their value to other teams. Randel Clemente and Darlin Saladin are doing that right now....or were doing it...AFL is done for the Cards. Result...neither will be protected. Clemente might be taken in the AA/AAA portion of draft. Saladin? I'm not sure....he's no Trent Baker...our last AA pitcher to be taken in the R5 draft. And I didn't expect Baker to be taken.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑13 Nov 2025 10:32 am I'm familiar with the AFL but not quite clear how players are selected to play there. Thanks. So it's essentially for minor league players who are underperforming.craviduce wrote: ↑13 Nov 2025 11:11 amteams can ask you, but the player usually makes the call.
